Digital Portfolio Requirements

Your Digital Portfolio is the archive of your work for the Expository Reading and Writing Course. It should tell the story of what you did and what you learned—it should also show the process of how your work developed throughout the year.

Throughout your portfolio: You should "curate" the pages—explain the assignments and how you approached each one. Be sure that your "curation" of the portfolio tells the story of our year and showcases your talents.

• Your name and a short bio • An overall design concept that is followed through in the rest of the pages of the portfolio • Images that represent you and what you worked on in this class • A sentence or two that describes the class and what we did in it • A navigation set-up that goes to the other pages (and that repeats throughout other pages)

It may also include things such as:

• Links to videos that relate to our year of study • Links to other sites you used for your research • Pictures or quotes to illustrate your essays and projects

• At least one Argument Essay rough draft and final draft should be included. The fully revised final draft of your essay must include textual analysis in order for you to maintain a B or better in the course. It must also be relatively free of grammatical errors.

• At least one Annotated Bibliography should be included. Give a brief explanation of the topic and your research source choices. The Annotated Bibliography must be relatively free of grammar errors.

• At least two Business Letters should be included. Give a brief explanation of the type of business letters submitted. The Business Letters should be relatively free of grammar errors.

• At least two typed or scanned rough drafts of your essays written throughout the year, with an explanation of your writing and revising process. Please be clear about the steps you took during the revision process. A revision strategy that you wrote between the drafts.

• At least two typed final drafts should be included. These final drafts should be relatively free of grammar errors.

• Examples of ways that you changed specific sentences or paragraphs of your essay from draft to draft (this could be done with color coding--highlight the original excerpt and the revised excerpt with the same color and then in your revision strategy, refer to that color of highlighting and explain what you did between the drafts)

• Notes that accompany the links to the various items on this page that explain what they are and where they came in the process---use your notes to curate your work

• At least two typed drafts of your two best Rhetorical Precis writings on any topic that was covered in class. • At least two typed drafts of your two best Analytical Paragraph writings on any topic that was covered in

class.

• Links to the presentations, embed, or scan the entire presentation you completed with your group. • A detailed summary of what YOU did to contribute to this presentation. • Include the research analyses, which includes a reflection on how the research process went and what

items you feel you (and your group as a whole) needed to improve on for next time and what you learned from the presentations.

It is recommended that you use Weebly as your website builder as it is a free and easy to use and edit. It is also recommended that you lock any pages that you do not want to be public. Be sure to provide me with the password/code to unlock your pages for grading.

Turn in your Digital Portfolio by May 15. Submit your website link on Edmodo for grading. Be sure to include the unlock codes for any locked pages. If you have no Internet access, you may turn in all of the required pieces in a three-ring binder with page dividers and title pages. This portfolio will count as 20% of your overall grade.
