Digital Data Transmission
The SRS-C34 radiosonde transmits data digitally to the
ground station. A check sum ensures that the measuring
data can not be falsified by transmission errors. Multiple
sondes can work simultaneously due to narrow band
transmission.
GPS
The Meteolabor radiosondes can be equipped with a
high-quality GPS made in Switzerland. These GPS devices
have 16 parallel channels and 8192 search bins to ensure
a short start time. High position accuracy is achieved
even WITHOUT a differential receiver because the receiver
can use correction data from additional satellites
(Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems, SBAS). These
qualities offer you the advantages of low installation costs
and simpler operation. Once the net is in full operation,
the system is ready to use the Galileo Satellites.
Ground System
ARGUS37 is a flexible ground station that can easily be
adjusted to meet the needs of the user. It starts from a
simple, portable research system and can grow to
interlinked systems where the software can receive and
display data at various workstations. For more details on
the ground stations, see the ARGUS37 data sheet.
2) The HC2 sensor is a polymer sensor which is faster
and more accurate than the hygristor.
3) For the most exact measurements of humidity,
SnowWhite® may be used to determine humidity
of the troposphere. SnowWhite® is the only
commercially produced dew point mirror of its
capabilities which can be used with radiosondes.
The sensor is constantly being developed further in
cooperation with customers and research institutes.
For users of radiosondes produced by other
companies, special versions of SnowWhite® are also
available. Please see the ASW35 brochure for
additional information.
Temperature
Meteolabor's temperature sensors are the smallest available on
the market due to our thermo element technique. The
radiation error is reduced to a minimum as the thermometer's
diameter is only 0.1 mm. The deviations between the various
sensors lie within a few thousandths of a degree, therefore
eliminating the need for extensive calibration. The result is a
thermometer with the highest level of accuracy.

Pressure
The hypsometer developed by Meteolabor measures
pressure not with a conventional measuring device but
rather with the temperature of boiling water. The
measurement is thus based directly on physical law which
increases the accuracy of the measurement. Unlike other
standard measuring devices, the height accuracy remains
stable throughout the complete measuring range of 0-35
km. Additionally, the accuracy of our hypsometers is
unaffected even in very low pressure, especially in
comparison to other well-known pressure transducers.
Hypsometer
Additional Parameters
Upon request, our radiosondes can be connected to other
sensors (e.g. ozone sensors, IR-spectrometer) through
interfaces. Even your own experiments can be
connected, either through the DC voltage/current inputs
or through digital inputs. A special version enables the
user to access the measuring data during the flight via an
RS232 interface.
