Theterm“continuity”isusedtodefinearesistancemeasurementwithatestcurrentofatleast200mA(withthemeasuredresistancelowerthan20Ω) inaccordancewith theVDE0413and IEC61557standards,andtodistinguish it fromaresistancemeasurementperformedwitha lowerunspecifiedtestcurrent.

2.1 DescriptionTheMegohmmetersModel 1030, 1040 and 1045 are battery powereddigital insulation resistance testers. They are designed to measureinsulationresistance, continuity, voltage, andtomeasureresistance. These megohmmeters are used to verify the safety state of electricalinstallations,motors,cablesandotherinsulatedproducts.Themeasure-mentacquisition,processinganddisplayingtechnologyaremanagedbyamicroprocessor.

The Models 1030, 1040 and 1045 offer many features such as:

• Automaticdetectionofpotentiallydangerousvoltages

• Protectionagainstexternalvoltagesurges

• Enhancedoperatorsafetythroughautomaticdischargeofthetestedsample
