Digipaks

Digipak’s are often used for CD singles, or special editions of albums, often including a special edition DVD or poster package.

Digipaks typically consist of a card outer binding, with one or more plastic trays inside. These are used to hold the chosen CD’s/DVD’s in the package.

This is an example of a digipak that I purchased. Stone Sour released their album ‘Audio Secrecy’ in a special edition digipak. In the pack was the normal Audio Secrecy album, featuring three limited edition bonus tracks that where not included on the normal version of the album, a 45 minute DVD featuring an in-studio documentary about the making of ‘Audio Secrecy’ and a video of three songs from Stone Sour’s performance at Download Festival in the UK. Along with this, a free three month subscription to the usually charged ‘Dead Generation’ fan club.

Extra, often special edition things are included in digipaks to help sell them to fans of the band. These include:• Band DVDs • Posters• Free membership to fansites• Secret gig’s – tickets given away inside
