The purpose of this article is to inform health and physical educatorson issues related to trauma, traumatic stress, social inequalities andinjustices that students may encounter, and strategies on how to fosterresilient learners in health and physical education.

Learn how a site in Oakland implemented a peer-to-peer mentalhealth mentoring program. The presenters will share an overview ofthe program, how it got started, and how they maintain theprogram. They will share the mentoring curriculum and bestpractices to support starting a peer-to-peer mentoring program inyour school. This is intended for anyone who is interested insupporting youth peer mental health.
