FITZGERALD'S NEW IMAGE continued

As our Newsletter/Digest stated last month, Fitzgerald’shas ambitious plans for upgrading the office facilities thisyear and, whilst the premises are now freshly painted, ournew furniture and special displays are just waiting inthe wings to make their appearance.

Equally, just as we say how important it is when sellingyour house to present it in the way that will attract buyers,we believe implicitly that the atmosphere in our offices is paramount, not onlyto attract new clients and make existing ones comfortable, but also to ensure all ourstaff feel empowered by their work environment.

With Cyprus experiencing long hot summers in the last few years, Fitzgerald's willbe using ecofriendly measures to cool their highprofile office on Apostolos PavlosAvenue. Experienced technicians are about to apply hitech 3M sunfilm to ourwindows to block out 76% of the heat from the powerful sun. Our customers andstaff are sure to be as cool as cucumbers in hot days ahead!

As many clients know, as well as Daryl and Anna who head up the Fitzgerald group, there are two excellent Russianspeaking assistants. The company is rewardingtheir dedication and hard work with the opportunity to use a new company car –a Honda Jazz which joins the small liveried fleet of Honda HRV and Civic.

The new Fitzgerald Property Catalogue is out now and proving to be verysuccessful; you can find it on our website www.fitzgeraldcyprus.com. The companyis proud of their track record which, alongside the Fitzgerald credo of qualityproperty at realistic prices with Title Deeds, has resulted in an overwhelmingresponse, even in this time of continued worries offshore about the financialsituation.

With title deeds secure, there seem to be very few people who do not sharethe Fitzgerald optimism about investing in Cyprus property. The ‘doom and gloom’media hacks are still talking down the market and we all hope that present troubleswill steer the country on the right path without the loopholes that some developersare so adept in exploiting, exposing buyers to risk.

The Central Bank of Cyprus announced that all foreign currency restrictions willcease on 1st September 2013 but even with restrictions in place, MandziakFitzgerald, with the help of an expert panel of lawyers, have concluded propertytransactions and money transfers without any hassle at all.

Our best wishes to everyone for the summer season and we look forward to seeingyou soon!

PISC regatta – a resounding success

The Paphos International Sailing Club (PISC)held an immensely popular summer regattafor local dinghy sailors for the second yearrunning at Agios Georgios – some miles northof Paphos between Friday 21st – Sunday23rd June 2013.

Ftizgerald’s was proud to be one of the threemajor sponsors, all of whom were commendedby PISC Commodore Chas Kimber: ‘At a timewhen the Cyprus financial situation might beseen to be “flukey” – a sailing term forvariable, uncertain winds – it is hearteningto have local businesses giving us theirsupport.’

Daryl Fitzgerald revealed in the sameinterview with The Cyprus Weekly national newspaper: ‘We are new to sportssponsorship, but we expect that this will be a successful venture. Fitzgerald’slicense is held by a company bearing my wife, Anna’s, name A. Mandziak EstateAgency Ltd (number 637) – so we have committed to sponsoring the Ladies Race, which is appropriate.’

As with any outdoor watersport, even on the Mediterranean sea, weather playsa great part. Saturday racing was delayed and one race cancelled due to … FOG!Yes, the small offshore island which had been chosen as one of the markers forthe first race was entirely blanked out by a thick bank of seafog, which clearedslowly over the morning. Day 2dawned rather finer for the Fitzgerald’sLadies Race which saw Sharon Kimberand Claire Lambert battling it out insmall singlehanded boats withnegligible wind for the title. As well asthe beautifully crafted glass and pebbletrophies provided by PISC, winnerSharon and Claire in second place, weredelighted to receive a surprise chequefrom Daryl. He commented afterthe presentation ceremony: 'It wasmarvellous to so many happy facesat the PISC regatta presentation at StGeorge's! Congratulations to the

winners, all competitors, theCommodore, all his helperson a great day for the club.'

For information: the PaphosInternational Sailing Cub(PISC) was founded over 13years ago. It has its ownclubhouse in Geroskipou –sadly not actually on thewater and a membershipof over 150 sailing enthusiasts from oceangoing craft located in various exoticports around the world through to the everpopular Kestrel and Wayfarer dinghies.

There is even one beautifullyrestored formerOlympic class Flying Dutchmanin the dinghy fleet. As well as members withtheir own boats, the club owns some smallsailing dinghies and holds weekly onthewater events for members and sailingstudents at Agios Georgios on the west coast.

Elena off to Kazan

After a busy year at Fitzgerald’s Elenaand children Konstantina and Georgiosleft for a well earned holiday in nativeKazan, the capital of Tatarstan, Russia.

The republic is located in the center ofthe East European Plain, approximately800 kilometers (500 mi) east ofMoscow and lies between the VolgaRiver and the Kama River (a tributaryof the Volga), and extends east to theUral mountains.

In the 2010 Census the population of Tatarstan was 3,786,488. Total land area is68,000km2. Tatarstan is one of the most economically developed regions of theRussian Federation. The region's main source of wealth is oil.

County’s prosperity permeates the social and commercial activities against thebackground of vibrant cultural diversity. Kazan is cradled between two majorrivers with the city resembling more a modern Garden of Eden rather than modernbuilt metropolis.

Elena and children are busy visiting relatives and friends, introducing children tothe new city and catching up with the latest on the social calendar. Mandatory socialouting are national opera, classical and modern ballet, drama and comedy andchildren’s theatre to name a few.

May 1923. The following year saw the birth of the International Confederation ofStudents (ICS). Until 1939 eight more sporting events were organised bythe students and the ICS. All the sporting events were mostly held in Europe.
