One of the major British rock groups of the early eighties, hailing from Merseyside.Their output was pop music similar in style to that of the new romantics, but withstrong similarities to the post-punk movement of the early 1980's, namely inclusionof a broader range of musical influences and occasional flirtation with political com-mentary. They shared an affection for Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, and Brian Eno,which you can hear in their melodies and lyrics. Still touring and performing todaythey have performed at the 02 arena and over recent months have sold out venues inthe UK. Mallorca will welcome singer/songwriters, vocalist/keyboardist Garry Dalyand guitarist Eddie Lundon, who have been the main core of the band since it wasfirst formed back in 1979 in Kirby . They will be performing with four superb musi-cians; John Legit (drums), Eddie Robinson (bass), Glyn Williams (keyboard) and Col-in Hinds (guitar). Fans will not be disappointed as the band performs all theirfavourite songs interjected with anecdotes and a little Liverpudlian humour. They will be performing works by Mozart, Bach & Mendelssohn.


Pollensa FestivalThe Berlin Chamber Orchestra is one of the oldest chamber orchestras in theGerman-speaking countries. Since its inception in 1945 it has become one ofthe most prestigious ensembles active today. It first captured international at-tention appearing with Helmut Koch, its first artistic director, who led it till1975, winning international recognition. Their innovative programming, youngand talented members are known for traditional ‘Vienna Classics’ from the Ba-roque to more contemporary periods.


Pollensa FestivalFather Mischa is a world renowned cellist. In 1966 he won 6th Prize at the Mos-cow International Tchaikovsky Competition and then in 1970, he was impris-oned in a labor camp for 18 months. After his release, he emigrated to Israel,where he holds citizenship and also studied for a time with Gregor Piatigorskyin Los Angeles. He appears here with his just as famous daughter, concert pia-nist Lily who was also on her fathers last recording for Deutsche Grammophone


“The journey of the Soul”Argentine singer Sandra Iriarte currently resides in Europe where her career isgrowing with great appreciation. For this occasion the concert also includespieces from the composer Juanes Leopoldo with inspiration from the Atlanticcoast. As if this “journey of the soul” meant a reunion with her Argentine rootsthe evening at the CCA patio will be a night of Tango, Folklore and song.

Mallorca Ballet SeasonAward winning dancer Lucia Lacarra was born in Zumaia, Northern Spain in1975. From the age of nine she showed an interest in dance and went on tostudy with the School of Victor Ullate in Madrid. In 1994 she joined Roland Pet-it's National Ballet of Marseille as a principal dancer before moving to the SanFrancisco Ballet three years later. Lucia is now a principal dancer with Bayer-isches Staatsballett in Munich.
