A brief introduction

My name is Qian xiangdong, (English name , Jason.) I graduated from Yunnan Normal College in 1985,then I began my teaching career as a teacher of English in a middle school. In 2007, I went to Christchurch, New Zealand for further education, improving my English, studying English teaching methods and skills. Now I am working in Kunming No. 5 Middle school, Yunnan province, China.

My idea in teaching and learning English

As a teacher, I am quite aware of the reason why we teach English.

We are teaching English or studying the teaching of English, but why do we want to teach English, as opposed to other foreign languages? It is useful for us to consider this basic question occasionally .

As for the students, they should know why it's important to learn English. They must have a clear purpose in learning English. They must know why they want to learn English. The awareness of the reason for leaning gives them the right motivation and focus. English can be learned for several purposes. It would be a good idea to identify one’s reason to learn English in order to encourage oneself to continue learning English every time.

What I want to know from the American teachers

How do American teachers improve themselves while they are busy in teaching? How do they take part in continuing education?

How about the relationship between the American teachers and students? How do teachers keep the balance between friendliness and strictness to the students?

If a student does wrong or breaks the rules, how a teacher deal with it?

How do teachers usually make preparations for a parent-teacher meeting?
