There was no coincidence which made Julius and Hanna set up their production of oilskins in Grundsund during 1913. Here on the rim of the Western coastline, where Sweden meets the ocean, there was a constant need. In Grundsund, we still find small reminiscences of how the clothes were once manufactured. Up in the attic of the old factory, you can still see traces and smell vapors of the linseed oil which was used to make the garments waterproof.

Through the years, many historical milestones have past. Firstly, in 1930, oil garments were substituted by rubber material. Then in 1947, the greatest breakthrough occurred! A welding machine was invented having the capability of making the garment waterproof. Afterwards, in 1981, the first polyurethane materials where developed. This was this beginning of a big volume of sales specifically to the consumer. A few years later, the development of breathable rain sets revolutionized the market of rainwear.

Weve seen them coming for 100 years now: Black clouds sweeping in from Kattegatt, letting loose the storms and

heavy rains over a windswept coastline. Weve also seen the coming and going of trends, both in fashion and

technology. We are prepared and feel that we can master them all.

Our collection is made with the same philosophy as back then. You can never change the weather or nature, so you better be well prepared for it.
