FEES News From the Directors Chair Dear Parents and Caregivers, We have just experienced such amazing learning at kindy over the past few weeks. We have enjoyed another outdoor kindy week and immersed ourselves in all that the great outdoors had to offer. It was truly a wonderful week. The weather was perfect…the brisk mornings were cold enough for a campfire and as the weather warmed up, the activities changed accordingly. Water activities and bubbles were enjoyed and a diverse and fancy menu was created and cooked on the fire. We deepened our learning and understanding of our book-based learning of the Wombat Stew story. The children all helped to retell and re enact the story and make various versions of wombat stew on our camp- fire (no wombats were hurt or cooked during this learning experience!) It was so wonderful to see how relaxed and independent the children were throughout the week. The distance travelled since their first outdoor kindy week in relation to their interactions with each other and the environment has been truly incredible. We could never have predicted just how rich and deep the learning was going to be when we initially planned the concept of outdoor kindy week. The learning experiences that have been provided by this experience for both, the children and staff have surpassed our expectations and provided us with a whole new perspective on the power and value of the outdoor learning environment. It’s sad to think that this is the last outdoor kindy experience for our kindy kids. I’m sure the memories and the learning that they have experienced will be with them forever. This is my last two weeks at kindy and we have so much happening. Our up and coming kindy concert will be a great way to celebrate what has been a brilliant year .Our concert will be lots of fun. Our concert will now be held at the kindy… We are going for a ”Kindy on the Green” type of feel. Lots of fun, laughter and joy! We invite you to bring along a picnic tea and drinks and a blanket to enjoy us reflect and celebrate what has been a bril- liant year! Please be mindful of the fact that we will be performing outside on the verandah. Please BYO picnic blanket or mat to sit and watch on the lawn. There will be no chairs allowed on our new lawn. Chairs can be placed on the tan bark surrounding the lawn area. Children are asked to wear their kindy T- shirt and a tinsel halo around their head. On a personal note, it has been such a fabulous year at Lobethal kindergarten. We have thought outside the square, been innovative, played hard, laughed harder and loved deeply. I feel so fortunate to have taught your children and learnt from and with them. Our staff team have been exceptional. We have all worked together so well and enjoyed every minute of our time together. It saddens me deeply to think we all won’t be working together next year. Thank you to all of the amazing parents on our Governing Council for their tireless work and support and thanks to our parents for supporting your child’s learning with enthusiasm and joy. It has truly been a pleasure to learn, laugh and love at Lobethal kindergarten in 2013. Lee

News From the Directors Chair

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We have just experienced such amazing learning at kindy over the past few

weeks. We have enjoyed another outdoor kindy week and immersed ourselves

in all that the great outdoors had to offer. It was truly a wonderful week. The

weather was perfect…the brisk mornings were cold enough for a campfire and

as the weather warmed up, the activities changed accordingly. Water activities

and bubbles were enjoyed and a diverse and fancy menu was created and

cooked on the fire. We deepened our learning and understanding of our

book-based learning of the Wombat Stew story. The children all helped to retell

and re enact the story and make various versions of wombat stew on our camp-

fire (no wombats were hurt or cooked during this learning experience!) It was so

wonderful to see how relaxed and independent the children were throughout the

week. The distance travelled since their first outdoor kindy week in relation to

their interactions with each other and the environment has been truly incredible.

We could never have predicted just how rich and deep the learning was going to

be when we initially planned the concept of outdoor kindy week. The learning

experiences that have been provided by this experience for both, the children

Thank you

This week we have many people to thank as part of our out door kindy.

Thank you to the following people— John Pingel—(Nic’s Dad) for very kindly drill-ing holes in many items Nic found for our mu-sic stations. Also thank you so much for the 4 tyres that have already been made use of over

and over again. Thank you again to the amazing Ali Moylan (Eddie’s mum) who spent the morning with us

along with her trusty camera taking some amazing photos.

Cindy Russell (Charlie Rose’s mum) who spent the whole day with us helping with many things

and supplying and helping the children cook potatoes, sweet potatoes and baked beans. All of

which were very popular. Melinda and Josh Martin (Laura’s mum and

brother) for coming in for the morning and set-ting up a cricket clinic for the children, they all

really enjoyed learning and playing with the bats and the balls, maybe a few future

champions there Melinda! Thank you for helping to make our last outdoor

kindy for the year a huge success. We also need to thank Jason Chandler for in-stalling our Totem pole which looks fantastic

and has pride of place at the start of the Claude walk. Also a big thank you to Coopers at Mt

Torrens who donated the concrete/cement and pole for the installation.
