DIARIO DE CAMPO DIEGO ALEJANDRO DIAZ February the 8 th / 2010 This day was funny, we met the kids they are beatiful boys, we played and we had a good time. Week from february nineth to 12 These have been hard days, I don`t have any free time, I`m a bit tired. The group is diferent. They are pretty good in english and they understand the rules and procedures, but they need to learn about respect to authority. Some of them use to call me just “Diego” and have other behaviors like that. About the clases it has been difficult because of the changes in the Schedule, it changed my first week plans. The kids arrived in small groups we have to repeat the procedures, the game and the activities a lot. The class just advances in the way we enter the class, go to the restaurant and go out, this is my job, this is your job and this is our job in english and that`s all. Working with these kids is a kind of a puzzle. I don`t know. How to reach their heart especially with first grade A, sometimes I feel I can`t connect with them. February the 8 th / 2010This day was funny, we met the kids they are beatiful boys, we played and we had a good time.

Tuesday, february the 16 th /2010It was kind of a hard day. I started with socials studies and we talked about a wisdom verse in proverbs, it talks about now wisdom built a house, I explained to them about how not to be a fool or novice. To represent it and took my shirt out of my pants, put my cap in a bad way and started to speak rudly (like a Street man) they laughed and understood that to be silly is a foolish act.We tried to write about what God says and we spent around 15 minutes writing 5 lines. In english class we started Reading the introduction, we talked about title, carácter, settings and authors, and we played a game presenting the main words (Hatch, catch, roll, cry, ride, scared) and the H.F.W.After that we started with some writing exercises from the SPB, when we finished we played a game named “The song of the verb” where I showed a

picture and they acted out words like (Read, run, go, think, talk, go) They liked that game.Most of these kids are pretty good for english, I have to think about how to help them to increase their level.

I`m especially worried about, Mariana because of her actitude, Jonatan in his behavior and Joel because he doesn`t speak and looks frightened I will pray and work.

Wednesday, February the 17th/2010Today we continued working on the words, Reading and the book, it was a cool day in english class; I think that the Reading process is good, but they think that´s it`s a bit bored t oread the same stuff every day.In socials studys it was good to sing, write and listen to the school, but sometimes it is dificult, I have to close this part giving an idea of what they have to learn here.

Thursday, the 18th of february/2010This was a good day, very similar to yesterday . I see the kids are working and I spend good times with them, We learned several songs like, “Father Abraham” , “Five Little monkeys”, “ My thumbs are starting to wiggle”, We enjoyed singing, but writing is a bit difficult.

Friday, February the 19 th/2010We did a diagnostic exam, I thought It would be easy for them and it wasn`t. I found out many weaknesses and strengths of my students. They are (most of them) good at listening and Reading but writting and following instructions will be a challenge, they hada a good reaction with the exam. They weren`t afraid. I was surprised with the writing point, because they only had to write 5 simple Word but most of them couldn`t. It`s good because we know where we are.

Tuesday, february the 23rd /2010Today was another day. We talked about doing a Project and They are exited about working on something of their own about that they are happy. In english class it was cool in my group, we read, played with the quetion ball and sung and worked in the book. On the other hand we had 3 hours with the other group. We did, almost, the same activities, we could advance more in the book, but the class was heavy, a bore atmosphere was sourrounding us I have to think about it and solve it. Maybe I have to set each day ex (monday-reading, tuesday HFW, etc) well we will see.Now we are learning the questions what, where, when, how, who.

Wednesday, february the 24th /2010Today was a good day. It was a shame that we didn`t have class with 1st a because we only had 30 minutes; we read and played with the ball of questions (it was fun for them) but we couldn`t finish with the spelling book.

Today we talked about the Project, we did drawings about what we want to learn, demostrate them, and making up groups of interest. They are very exited with the idea, one of them was Brayan, He wanted to work on Einstein because of his formula, He can travel in time and to other planets. Guillermo`s drawings are fantastic. Most of them wanted a profesión or to talk about dinosaurs. Other cool stuff was playing girls vs. Boys in the question contest. They have to find a picture of the question (how, who, what, where, when) and They were laughing and screaming, it was awesome, I laughed a lot.In the 1st A, I had to talk seriously, because of the actitude against the Reading class, it was a bit sad and Daniel cried.Now they changed a Little, they`re trying to do everything with happiness but it`s not natural.

Wednesday, march 10th/2010Today we started two Jobs. In one side in my group. I started preparing the demostration. The kids in my group built the models, rehearsed the speech or wrote the text they are going to share. In the sports group they worked very tight, They were encouraged and focused in their work and build their park and volcano.In the Jobs group they tried rehearge the speech but they needed a lot of help in the structure the work and after show the work they went to the library and Giselita helped them with a carreerbook, she was amused their visit and showed them some books.The last group only wanted a video about Albert Einstein, so they wrote their speech and helped other groups.This was excelent work, they are encouraged and focused, they did an invitation for lost of people as Edgar (director) and other teachers in spanish the work is good but we have to set times and process.Talking about the writing process it is different than I thought, They are not learning the vocabulary, I have to change my strategy especially with 9 kids in 1st A. I don`t know What to do but I will put these subjects in God`s hands and we will see.

Week from tuesday the 16th to friday the 19thThese days were terrible for me. I didn`t like my classes, I tried to read the book filling the book properly, I did, but it was extremly boring. I`m ashamed about it, because my planning was very bad and i have to accept that.Working in groups is a good strategy and both groups and they are getting comfortable with each other. That`s a good strategy.

Tuesday to friday (6th to 9) april 2010Wow, these days have been awesome, I have followed my progam and it was very good. I have reached a good time administration because of the planning. I left a lot of time without writing but I`m going to talk about the most interesting things for me.First of all about Reading I`m applying the Josette Jolibert`s Reading strategy step by step, first, I started looking for a model (a map for 1st A a curriculum for 1st

B) we observed and in the next class they did their own map and curriculum. In the case of map most of them were without ways for walking and neither names of places. In case of the curriculum they had to whoose a career and make the drawing and some words. It was so difficult for them and only achieve the drawing but it was so dificult. When we try comparing and adding more details the maps grown in details but the curriculums didn`t, I think its because it`s more difficult to organize these ideas, so I have to set other stuff for helping them.About Reading it was good in both groups. We could set more each time the Reading way, because we read in other ways and try to find out what the Reading says, and most of te time they can get a general idea by looking the images, recognizing familiar words looking these question facts I realized two ways of thinking about Reading.One way, they repeat and understand by that or, we find out what happen by asking and fixing Reading tolos. It was good, we could realizing day by day setting the questions until we under stood we have to try to get more details about the Reading looking a squeme like this.

Tuesday the 13th april 2010What a day, sometimes opening your heart would be painfull.The day begun with raindrops and tears, we learned about a fish-spine ( a tool for managing problems) see the example and we did a conversation about the group we did this chat and they told me, I`m yelling to much, it was a bit difficult and we talk about the relationship between kids and teachers and I told them how I feel, I told them I`m feeling very bad about the way they chat in my explenaitions, how they don`t pay atention, how laugh while I`m talking and I said that it makes me feel disrespected, some of them listen and almost cry, others asked “why don`t you calm down?”After the break the class was right, we could work in the book, read and copy the telling part of a sentence but for make a line and go to the restaurant we took 15 minutes until they can follow properly the instruction.With Gina`s kids it was good, too much time but good. She mde a class excellent about god using videos and copies, it amazed me and maybe I copy that. Sadly my kids damaged the other classroom places I had to call them hardly and make them repair the damages. I`m so woried about the hearts of these boys but as my boss said. We can`t struggle this by ourselves, we have to pray and ask God`s help.

Monday 19 of abril 2010The week begun hard, I was praying God for been patient with my kids (all of them) and this week was supposed to be great in God`s hands.I tried a game named “old maid” and a different way of setting the class. I proposed the kids working by stations, there were three. One they had to work alone in the book. In the second station they had to continue writing in their text by themselves. Their third station was playing old maid with me. The exercise was playing this card game were they have to repeat questions and read some

sentences. I think this game was fun and they had to repeat a lot of sentences, but let a report, the days I have planned games. I have to print the HFW to study and send the Words for study. This clases were good buta r the las hour it was last hour it was heavy because the kids didn`t.These days had been heavy but I have been praying for been patient but I understood that It`s not enough been patient you must be move than that you most love and have the fruits of spirit with you.

Monday 26 of april 2010.I`m thinking on these days. God thougt me about dreaming be patient and flexible and don`t be scared of changes. So I will start changing my position in front of the Project. We`re going to have “Works” as an Enterprise and the first one is going to be make bread for the missionary preschool trip, it is going to be for an geriatric home and we will set that for help the kids in kínder. Today we started with the high frequency words, we made a math a list of opposites and send a homework for study and we`re going to see the results, we took the words from the story and did some pages of the PB I have to set the books and changes. They can work step by step without my help.Javier suggested me to make the book activities I`ll check them and pick some.

Wednesday 28 th of abril (2010)We went to maloka, I thougt it would be, uselless and disordered but I was mistaken, it was funny and I forgot they apply the science in the actual life so It fits perfect in the Project. We saw sea reptiles fosils and learn what to do with them specially how that becomes petroleum. It was explained by a man named simon Vaquero it was scary but they remember more that ones, because were frightened and others because they did enjoy, this make me think in more they enjoy and the emotion is good and positive, more they remember the experience.We talked about what do we enjoyed, didn`t enjoy and how this visit could help us in the Project, and we choose to make boxes for feeling, work with Simòn Vaquero and the fosils, It was cool.

Friday 30th of abril 2010Devotion, this is the way of a real Good teacher. Sometimes I feel I have tis in my life, others I feel I`m far of this ideas as the west is far from the east. Friday is an special day, is the day of change. All day I come with my plan and see how it flies in the school changes. We had as five things for doing in the board, we were finishing the animal masks that were beatiful, the kids were exited and happy it was a good happy momento and suddenly we have devotional and my plans run out again. Nothing to do but going and set other plans then with my kids we did the same, make up some puppets and advance in our Project`s work we started writing, the goal write one sentence. I gave a piece of paper by group 4 groups of 4 kids each one) and did a drawing with the steps we said yesterday and a key Word.

They had to write the sentence. Guillermo`s group tried with words lie “meskling” but the structure of the sentence was there. Juan Camilo`s group did a list. Ingredients: salt, flour, eggs… but hardly made it, Hannah`s group couldn`t the fought and write two words; but the amazing case was Jonatan. He tried 3 times with corrections and questions. While the girls were playing¡ I couldn`t believe¡ well it was awesome and I congratulate him. At the end I put together all the récipe and did the oven drawing. It was good. Now we will wait next week for doing the bread.

Monday, 3rd of may 2010What are we doing? This is Dorothi`s Cohen questions. Where we are? What are the kids waiting in the future? What do we think? The school can not be only a culture and wisdom cascade where the parents put the kids for trying to reach a bit of the flow. It must be a camp of dreams, but not silly dreams of imaginary worlds, it most be a camp for growing the future and success. The problem is all teachers and schools have different ways of look at the future an sucess the difficult gets bigger when we know the way we expect the future and success is the way we teach and the goal we set. This is the problema of knowledge, the more your know, more you suffer.Upss¡ today. It was monday it was cold abd is the sleepy rising of a week we started with HFW and the PB and a song “learning the days of the week” I aproach this time for evaluate listening , this i son easy song so I asked them what do they understood. Most of them had the general idea and doing better with listening; we learned the song and di dan small x factor contest and we will practice the days, they liked the song.

Tuesday 4 th of may 2010The son of Great Turkish and Terminator. In Moliere`s time in the XIX or XVIII century He wrote a funny piece named Le bourgoise gentilhomme” (El burgues Gentil Hombre) In his play Moliere talks about the “son of Great Turkish.He was the end for all his socials and monetary problems because the guy was the “richest man in the earth” the problem was it was a legend the funny stuff is that “le bourgoise” believes over all reality. This happens to school. We are trying to find the “solution” the son of great turkish” that give us the success in education, then we search “innovate” as the door of heacen for finding out in the end it was a lejend, a lie. We call it “method” or “curriculum” and I think is Good to have an horizon, the problem is we don`t know where we are or where we go? If we don`t know the people we are working with, How we expect to help them?There are other teacher out of our schools. They tell our kids how to think, the clothing ways and what tos ay. Cohen taught me about the techonology in the 70`s as one of the school`s tolos for teach. becoming tv, internet and techology and ups¡ they teach our kids, I`m asthonished all people know that but I realized the roots of these situation.Today we cooked bread. All started with the devotional, we talked about service and how Jesùs was an example for us serving (Jhon 1 3) so we start writting in the journal when the time comes the kids were very exited, wash their hands and help each other boy. The kínder`s classroom was a big party. Each one served, my kids shared and helped others. The classroom was a complete mess but it was fun. We tried to read and do the recipe in english and we did it, even if in sometimes I had to loose this lenguaje. With the other group we are writting and I feel this exercise is getting bored, because they did a good job but the second one wasn`t very good. Again the emotion is leaving this exercise and is time to finish.

Wednesday 5th of may 2010We continued talking about what we did yesterday. I am happy because in 4 years of trying I could do a metaevaluation in a Project. We talked and write the steps we followed, the plans, the results. It was good we were writing first A too. They were writting doing a map, it is a different way of writing . They are designing a map by groups. We did incredible maps as first sketch with awesome colors and good texts incredibly the second sketch wasn`t as good as the first some of them are bored with the topic, we are waiting and thinking about what we can do?

Wednesday 19th of mayo 2010 and thursday 20thThis day we were trying to evaluate the song and the pronunciation, they sing the song “learning the days of the week”. Most of them did it correctly and fine. We started a writing process. First we did a map with one ocupation and a rain of words related.

After that they had to propouse sentences. It was difficult for some kids but most of them could do it; as a group tey can dandle this instruction with a Little help. Finally we had to make sentences using I and me, so I asked them to write what the carácter like the most using. I like…. Or the best for me is…. Nest week we are going to write about how he or she worships the lord. I try to understand it this work is usefull, I have to remember this is the middle of the work we have to do the evaluation and meta evaluation.. too much more.

Monday 24th of may 2010It seemed like another gray rainy day, but the sun appear and it continued rising and shinning. I could be in the devotional, it remembered me my need of God and being alone with him.With Gina`s group we went to see a “Volcano explotation” in second grade, they were expecting a big explotion we went there a looked the volcanos spreading liquid in different colors. It was exiting and we talked about how this can be usefull to their Project. They said they can do a volcano in their model.Sometimes I think is difficult to work in the Project when they don`t do nothing to advance. I can advance and do stuff about the projectm in fact the text about animal curriculum fits in my Project but is difficult to fit it in the park. I don`t know but we will see.

Friday, may 28, 2010Hi, DiegoThanks for letting we “pick your Brown” by Reading your journal. I see that God is really growing you as well as your kids through your teaching process. Keep learning on God to be your teacher. Remember Jesus was also a teacher and his students also did not always advance as quickly as he wanted. I think your hope for the advancement of your students is great¡ keep up the good (hard) work. How are you doing with learning flexability? Monday, 31st of may, tuesday 1 st, wednesday 2 nd of june.

This journal wasn`t with me then these days are not telled day by day. I will tell some cool things I`ve seen.We are about to finish our first oficial text, It`s almost done, We have to evaluate it and show it, different than other process I`ve done this was calmed, organized and sequenced. The only part that wasn`t worked by them was the gramar and spelling correction, it was a calmed because God showed me to give them enough time, their time. Other succesfull strategy was working by groups, it has good characteristics as they solve the “writing problem” together so the skilled boys help the others; this has a shadow because several times the boys who are not very interested in writing started top lay or were relegated as happened to Juan Camilo. Writing is and has been so difficult for him, he re started the first grade because he needs to write correctly. Nowdays he`s improving his writing skills and is doing better and better and he felt very upset because in his group don`t let him write. He told me crying “They don`t let me write and if I can do it, it`s only just a Word¡ “this was so painfull-Thanks God he finished his work and is good. I want to talk to his, even if I see him achieving his writing abjectives he doesn`t seem happy. This makes me remember what I learned Reading How children learn.Does it deserves all the pain and personal sacrifices in a Kid just for learn an skill that is going to come naturally?

These days have been strange because they`re having a bad behavior in class again, don`t pay attention in explanations and it is so difficult to set the class, the consecuence of this is I have loose time and It`s been a waste of time…. I have to spend less. Time in being upset and more teaching.

Thursday 3rd of june 2010Work and work and more work. At the classroom the topics and Works continues. I was thinking on I don`t arrive to the class saying “OK, today our topic is short vowels or whatever” I think I`m going in process or making up projects, off course, there are “main goals” I want to achieve with the kids, but is hard to me when someone says “what was the topic of your class” sometimes I have one in mind, but I plan to use it along the week or month… sometimes it make me feel unsequre. I don`t know.Today was our first let`s worship the lord offering by week we were working on that, first we have the song everywhere, we talked about it, what is it about and their ideas. I knew they would like to dance and prepared a choreography, they gave me the ideas, soldiers, pilots and fliying stuff, so I prepared the work and we did it. It was hard to repeat, some days we have to dance under the rain (few rain), other days they were tired but we tried to give and pleasant offering to God.The big day come and It was awesome, they did it happy, not perfect as I liked but they show a beatiful kid heart. For me, the coolest thing was seeing other people saw. Lots of teacher congratulate us, including Betty the head of the celebration, They seemed happy and organized, I think It was only God. What was different was I could prepare myself and did exercises thinking on How to do it better. It was very good.

Tuesday 8th of june 2010The exam day`s arrived. I`m so happy because this evaluation process was succesfull, calm and organized. There was a good process, most of the kids took the document to their houses and their parents help them to organize it. Maybe it`s not something espectacular but I`m glad about the kids, they can explain the process they followed. Other good advance was the timing. I spend yust 2 hours and a half setting the evaluations, other exams took 8 or 9 hours in the applying. That is very amusing for me because this time the stress was minimal. While I was evaluating they worked by groups it was awesome.

Wednesday 9th of june 2010We are doing the devotionals with material shared by the kids, today was a movie day and taking advance of the schedule we took a big time seeing “facing the Giants” it was very encouranging because we saw how pray can not be our only tool for making things change, Juan Camilo said: “ Its not only to pray and stay, you have to do something” it was a kind of revelation, and we saw how important is to give honor to the Lord everywhere you are.

Now we are writing about what we did in the whole term, we are thinking and trying to recopilate all the important stuff we did n order to evaluate and make conclutions.

About the second rubricAll began when I was thinking on doing something practical to do. Last years we adopted the demostration as the only way for evaluating with the rubric. Then I met the broshure , or the diary as an evaluation tool. I see it as an interesting way because we can observe process for all term along. We (met on agree) talked with the spanish, math and science teachers and they agree to do their evaluations the same way, so we choose some documents that we shurely work in this time and started working on them. I could see the different teacher`s ways of working. Some of us usthe book as the first guide of the class, and use all the strategies given in this way. Others try to use (real) the actual environtment of the school combining the book activities with the real life. For example, there was a data graphing work made using a survey made from the students, to the students appliying the knowledge they had to manage real data.In my case I work using their own creativity and encourage them on do their own work, presented by copies of their own drafts. It was difficult for some parents to understand this evaluation way and most of them were a bit confused about how to help their kids. Some of them were a bit stressed but all of them made an efford to help their kids. Other reason for using the Binder was because most of the kids and their families didn`t know how or why to use it and that is a Baldrige characteristic, is part of our school philosophy.If I would do it again, I would make a fair. Where the kids would show their work, that was a missed part and it`s important for them to relate their work. For instance I`m important for them to relate their work. For instance I`m happy because I know the kids can show their work and can talk about their achievements using the Binder. I`m happy too, because we could do a shared work with my partness. They are a good work team. Other thing we have to change is to give more space to God`s teachings, they are very important and they were done in the process but it doesn`t only seemed in the journal.

Tuesday 27th of july 2010.Rainy and cold but not quiet or stopped. Tuesdays are a bit hard because I have to give most of the hours but today It was relaxed.It was a brainstorn day too. In socials class I gave them some minutes to plan how are they going to explain Martha, what they want to do and how. Some of them asked me if they can bring a tent and Jeronimo did a plan a carry it all day. He asked for photocopies and gave them to his partners, It`s amazing. They`re planning and thinking by themselves. We finish seeing “Coraline” and I`m planning to talk about their houses. Throu a conversatory.In english we`re sung a rhime and I`m going to finish the class with it. We`ve talked about nouns and doing exercises they are understanding. We read the book and asked questions about and it was good to encourage them to go beyond in their Reading.

Jonatan is going better, but stills hits his partness but something in his heart is changing , he seems happier and there`s more peace in his hearth. In other hand we have problems with Brian. He`s not doing anything in class and I talk to him. He says his brother and sister bother him. They he`s not abble to do anything, that he`s not Smart. I try to encourage him and try to help him. We will see what happen to these kids.

Wednesday 28th of july 2010.It was awesome today¡ I`m impressed about how creative my kids could be. Today was Martica`s demostration. The class begun with a conversatory about Coraline movie. Most of them were impressed and had nightmeres so we had to talk about say “no” when they`re looking something we don`t want to see. I saw too, they can see a lot of things we could see that when parents gave us everything we ask, is not too good to us and when they correct, they love us. And how the evil give us “magic doors” as movies or ads that encourage us to do wrong things as drugs or other bad things.Martha P. Arrived late and they showed huge habilities they showed (three) five ideas by group.Jerònimo and co. Talked about doing a school shop and selling snaks, the cool stuff they did a plan including maps and a writen plan with steps.Guillermo and co. They want to do a play about Jesus rights (how they were violated) and cover for seeing it. Natalia talked about making a tent about how Simon Vaquero found petroleum.Mateo talked about doing a Little farm with a farmer, we suggested him to make other things more quick as farm games.The last Project was the sensations box exposed by Nicolas. They want to make big ones and small for selling in $1.500 and $2000 pesos.I was amazing because of their ideas and thought with Martha about doing a fair, were they can do all the small projects.There`s a lot of work to do and lots for planing I ask God guidance in this huge Project.

Friday 30th of july, 2010What was remarcable today was the payment. I place a table in the park and give them the money of their salary. I used the assitance chart where they wrote the hour they arrived at the class room (as we do at school) It was waiting for them having their money and think about how to spend it. I payed them $500 pesos by worked day. Just two kids wrote down the 4 days and recieved all the money. It is a cool counting-working exercise and they`re happy.

Tuesday 3rd of august 2010.“Do you know why the teacher does good at drawing? Because he does all for God.”This days had been cool. We are starling our Project and we have many cool ideas. We are going to make a fair and it will have 5 stands:-shop- Green house- Simon Vaquero`s tent- Theater

- Sensation boxI hope this final result be cool and very good for kids and remarkable. This day we were talking about objectives. First it was a bit difficult for them but using the exercises of the practice book, most of the kids get segurity at this subject.Now I`m starting a mini experiment working by groups. In a group we set the groups by their capacity and in other there`s a leader who help their pairs and must of them are médium or low level this group serves as a control. The first work we did was to write about the topics we choose and make a chart using the words they know. In the first group, it happen that he have 1 low level group, 2 medium level 2 high level group. In low level they needed a Little help but they worked normaly as their other partners they did a good job. The second group did a good job too (a group of girls just made decoration but a few words).In the group of the high level it was so difficult, because the`re so proud between them.

Wednesday 4th of august to 6th of 2010.Passed this week I see somethings and I remember some achieves.Now I can see the kids can write a dictation using correctly most of the familiar words, we did a dictation in the questions of the Reading, they could make a usefull dictation where they could write actual questions about Reading.Other stuff was setting the projects investigation using books from the library that they borrowed. They check out topics for helping their projects and go deeper in the contets. Even if it was a bit difficult with the librarían, It was good.We started proposing a map for doing the texts, they are going step by step.The problema of organizing a rubric and the whole Project, is something I`m facing now, I did a first step on that way but I still pray. God helps me in put together the ideas with Gina and the other teachers and we will see.We continue working in the books but I see, I have to work faster because, days are running and get shorter.

Monday 9th of august 2010Busy day. Each day I ought to write the taskes we are going to solve each day. I see we have a lot of stuff to do and minutes run fast without stop. We started working as the same way in books, I realized we have to advance faster working by groups it Works. We tried to go ahead with the investigation feeding a chart, it was rich and fun and they enjoied it. It work is a bit messy but they are showing good results. For instance, because of the rubric I have to stop there and start working in the rules. Beyond that we had a kind of situation, girls and boys had a basquetball game, boys groups were chosen by the teacher but the girls chose their partners.When I came to the classroom, I saw a Maria Josè she was very upset, she almost cryed telling me Hannah chose her friends and won the game. After thant Victoria said, they loose because she was smallest between her partners, I talked to them and said it would be as God desing Dinosaurs. There was some of them big and strong, other small and fast, but sometimes small animals can beat big using the giffts God and worked hard. And there the T-Rex it was fast and strong and win over many other dinosaurs as Jesùs, he doesn`t stayed there weaping because of his problems but working hard for doing Gods job.The girls stayed calmed.

I was thinking about following a program. Reading a text it says the way a class must be teached, its steps its sequence, but I feel I can`t work in that way, I can`t solve my class in just one topic and develot it following the steps. I believe in building Works along all year, use the subject of our class all year, I have to solve this and understand my teaching way. Sometimes it work for must of the kids I have worked with. So it would be usefull to know.

Wednesday 17th of august 2010Interesting sunny days. Buses had arrived late, so I can`t go to devotional, I can`t pray for the beggining and the teachers don`t arrive at school early so it makes things happen heavy. I`m starting againg with Bellwork and surprisely they did it. It was to look in the bible and they did. Today I want to work in God`s point of view of the fair.We`re talking about I corintians 12 and How God give us several and diferent gifts to serve the kingdom, the same way we`re talking about how God did us identity and there are lots of things that make us diferent to others I think they understand this concept. I did an experiment. Dorothy Cohen says that first graders are not able to understand abstract concepts at goverment and it you ask them about what is it, they will answer as “is a man who lives in Washington”. I asked that question to my kids and their answers were interesting. Guillermo was very close, he said that is a group of men as the president and his staff and they rule over the country. Other said that is the group of people who give us order as Edgar or other people. I think they`re closet to the idea of goverment maybe in 30 years kids are growing faster.In other hand we had te english class. I copied the walt Disney world China`s park rules and asked them for read it. It was cool. When they saw the huge page and small letter, it makes them frightened but when I sayd there will be a Price, they started working. The first activity was looking and circle familiar words and count them. First it was a bit confuse, but the kids did it impresively. They saw lots of words of them because are similar to spanish, others because are part if their vocabulary. They recieved their Price call of them and we`re happy.The last interesting thing is the integration with 7th grade. Martha Paipilla did a demostration about enter prices and the cool stuff was they saw it with that grade. It makes them feel serously as business man.

These days had been very hard. I had a lot of work to do. At school I couldn`t work in there, I got to work and didn`t had any time to continue in my work. Very busy days.We continued working in the text. I saw how kids were stocked in front of the page, but it was very satisfiting to see them proposing sentences, we are finishing. We are working so hard to worship the lord in LWTL we`re dancing, looking for excelence.

We were organizing the parents conversatory it was so beautifull to listen them about how their desire is to grow their childs in Jesus.God did a lot of things this week, a lot but I need to organize my self first to write them all.

Wednesday 25th of august 2010Resting and relaxing gives you times for think for evaluating yourself. This was that kind of thay. I was helping my group to set their tomorrow`s demostration. I acted out a good and bad demostration, I gave them all the papers (worked and no worked) and realized we, do did the job with a few topics, but we talked about it.In english class we were working on Reading tools. I have good questions , how we`re handling the writing issue? Why not we do we start a preeschool newspaper? We`re waiting for tomorrow and see what is going to happen with the demostration.

Thursday 26th, friday 27th, monday 30th of august 2010Presentaciòn de Rùbricas, 2010 (3er bimestre)Pensando en el desarrollo de nuestro proyecto de aula queremos compartir las experencias que hemos tenido trabajando en grupo en pro de un proyecto integrado de aula.Al comienzo del bimestre nos pusimos de acuerdo los profesores de las áreas de español, ciencias, math, inglès y sociales para poder hacer una evaluación que integrara las materias, Gina sugirió que ya que los niños querìa en un curso hacer una feria y en otro hacer un parque de diversiones la idea sería que cada niño trabajara en una propuesta de proyecto. La presentación de dicha propuesta se haría en power point con la colaboración del profesor de informática.Comenzamos por tratar de ver que Dios nos da a cada uno diferentes clases de dones, pero cada uno aplica los suyos en torno a una causa común guiada por Dios.Formamos en un grupo parejas de trabajo que diseñaran cada atracción de un parque de diversiones. Cada pareja se reunió y formaron una primera propuesta de atracciones realcionàdolas con la biblia, por ejemplo, el barco pirata sería el arca de Noè y asì varias atracciones mostrarìan algo de Dios.Por su parte los niños del otro grupo habían acumulado varias tareas de las salidas hechas en tiempos pasados. Asì que decantamos 5 actividades a desarrollar- tienda escolar, Simòn Vaquero (la historia del petróleo), invernadero y obra de teatro “los derechos humanos de Jesùs” y caja de sensaciones.Cada uno de estos temas fuè algo que les llamò la atención a los chicos. En un comienzo trabajaríamos uno por uno, pero a la hora de hacer un consenso un niño replicò: porquè no formamos grupos y trabajamos todo?” y asì fuè.Dado que nuestro proyecto es una empresa buscamos la asesoría del área empresarial del colegio en cabeza de Martha Paipilla quien nos ha orientado en el enfoque de nuestro proyecto. Por semanas hemos trabajando en los textos que irían en la presentación, las reglas de cada atracción (escrits en inglès) planos y diseños trabajados desde la

geometría en matemáticas y el concepto de representación del espacio físico en sociales, las clases se desarrollaron entre los requerimientos del currículo escolar y las necesidades del projector.Paulatinamente buscamos avanzar apoyándonos en el ànimo de los chicos quienes se han apropiado de sus proyectos pensàndolos y preparándolos. Para presentar la rùbrica les solicitamos a los padres que apoyaron el trabajo de los chicos con algo de asesoría.El dìa de la presentación había mucha expectativa los màs aplicados trajeron sus trabajos rápidamente al comenzar el dìa. Reunimos los dos grupos en un salòn con persianas, ajustamos el video beam, hacìa calor y el salòn respiraba entusiasmo. El primero en presentar su trabajo fuè Samuel Peña quien nos mostrò en su exposición su forma de escribir ya que su trabajo ( como el de varios) fùe scaneado para cada diapositiva exhibió su mapa, su contabilidad (lista de insumos) y sus propuestas de proyecto. Fuè un ejército muy interesante ya que ellos mismo fueron quienes pensaron en la propuesta, la mayoría exhibió una mejorada habilidad para escribir en español, pudieron utilizar lo aprendido en geometría (formas simétricas y asimétricas) en mapas aplicables a lo real, representando un espacio físico real en un concepto de mapa. Tambièn proyectaron insumos incrementando sus habilidades de planificación, sin mencionar el crecimiento apreciado en su discurso, la manera de dirigirse a un público que, en muchos casos, se viò mucho mejor.Se destacaron además propuestas como la de Guillermo Acero quien además de realizar un trabajo impecable supo dar razón de los detalles técnicos de su presentación y sus textos. Niños como Mariana Casillas y Mateo Pèrez o Mitchell Bermin quienes además de traer su trabajo también realizaron maquetas para ilustrar su trabajo.En términos generales los niños mostraron mucha habilidad para exponer sus proyectos, están altamente motivados y entendiendo la veracidad de sus propuestas.Los días siguientes se dedicaron a revisar la documentación, prevista del proceso de trabajo. La mayoría de los chicos tenìan sus procesos completos. Baetos, procesos de escritura y registros fueron documentados en su binder.En el área de inglès se documentò el proceso de escritura de las reglas de las atracciones, poco a poco los niños se acercan a la escritura expontànea de frases con las estructuras màs simples, tomamos como punto de referencia las reglas de world Disney, hong Kong de donde tomamos vocabulario y estructur de frases. Trabajamos en equipos, algunos chicos trabajaron solos o en parejas formulando sus reglas, preguntando el vocabulario hasta lograr el primer boceto y luego la versión corregida en el cuaderno, la cual publicaremos en la atracción cuando èsta se realice. En resumen èste proceso està culminando de la mano de Dios, trabajando para El. Como líderes con visión de Reino.

Tuesday 21st of september 2010 to friday 24 of septemberToday was a good but heavy day we started with the poster writing and advance with the book. All these days we have been working about how to write a poster for the Project using structures for a poster. We did this exercise in the begining of the year We wrote a title, make a drawing and try to make their own sentences for the poster. In the begining they told me, they couldn`t write about it. encourage them and they started to write, must of them could do it and we have done the first shetch.The same time we have done reharsals for LWTL Once We were worshiping and calling the rain, and it rain. I was learning about how to dance and all they were following Marcela and suddenly it started to rain. Other time we were reharsing the choreography and they were tired and I realized that they were doing a great job but the organisations wasn`t good we have to change.There`s a lot of stuff I don`t mention here, challenges as Daniela Palomino who broke her leg and It`s being difficult to her studding, she can`t do many things but Hannah and other girls help her.There`s a lot of live here and problems, Brayan, Jhonatan a Christian continue doing this as their will and even if we talked with their parents things are not changing.There comes hard days but God will be glorifield-

Tuesday 28th of september 2010Hadn`t you a day when everything goes right? I don`t mean the good day when funny things happen to you, I`m talking about those days when God`s smile is on you, today was this day.It begun with the best new of them all. Henry is back! something happened and he came back to our school. There were smiles everywhere and hugs and good wishes. He will begin on thursday but were so happy about that. The kids ran and hug him and people screamed of happiness. I was working the kids in the spelling book and they I finished it¡ most of the cases by themselves I was so happy, is the first time I can achive that book.A bit sad part was I had to stay in a meeting and I couldn`t teach in my group, but Nina helped me to take care of them.When I came back. We gave the secret friend presents, It was beatiful to listen them saying good things about their partners and even if nota ll of them brougt gifts all of them reieved as God`s mercy it happens even if we offend his all days.

Wednesday 29th of september (2010)The week started! today we were working on our Project`s stands. We begun with the ads of each atraction. Two of them finished and I`m going to describe: school shop: Valeria didn`t come so they were working on the beatiful add.

- sensations box: they started the first box covering it with paper because, only paint wasn`t enough, while Mariajo worked in the ad.

- Green house: They finished quickly and started planing the labyrinth, and went to the preschool`s Green house where they planned to do ads, observation race and other cool. Stuff. They wrote all that.

- Simòn Vaquero: just finished the ad and it`s beautifull.- Theather: They started the ad and did the first back stage painting about

the Golgota, it is beautifull too.In english class we were doing the final posters for inviting the school. This as the ending and evaluation of our first text.I`m so exited about their progress and I trust God is going to help us.

Tuesday 5th of october 2010Today we worked on the Project first we`re working on the text we`re going to use to introduce the atraction. I`m so happy because, now it`s so natural for them writing their name, introduce their atraction. It`s a good exercise because we can think on what are we going to say we`re walking straight to a good job, and they are happy with these work.In social class we set the ads for each presentation, and each detail of boyes, Green house, store and play. They are very exited about this, all time they work on this they seem happy and enthousiautic, even jhonatan can work in group and share with their partners most of the group and share with their partners most of the group is involved in a task and they puta ll they activity on the work. This has been a good job.

Wednesday 6th of october 2010.We continued working with the Project. We worked on two things. We talked about the bicentenary using a story wich was given to me. It`s so interesting because we can see how schools were two houndred years ago, what Lancaster`s method was and what kind of schools our country had.The Project continued with the same rythym and energy.Today I had the counseil meeting and I couldn`t give the two last hours, but Nina helped me.

Tuesday 19th of october 2010.Coming from vacations.The bus was late, this was a kind of surprise, but ok! that`s the day, I`m back again. My son is about to born and I have to set all the things to help the student and finish the Project as son as it could be, that`s because every time I can I struggle to advance in our work.They are finishing their atractions.Simon vaquero. They are drawing a welcome poster with a straction tower.School shop. Finished the Price`s list.Green shop. They finished the observation race and starting the puzzle about the parts of the plant. Sensation box: they are doing one boxes but they`re still back.Theater: they finished their backgrand and same stuff now they reharse their play.We continued working in the text. I set 3 parts: 1) introduction 2) Description 3) something related to God. Most of them di dan excelent Job we continue working. I`m happy to come back It`s a hufe task we have.

Tuesday 26th to friday 29th 2010.My son is rocking my life. I`m specting him, since a week. Every day I think on him. I´m setting my “whole life around him and now I have to be flexible. I`ve working on the books and games with both groups. I`m glad because day by day most of the kids can work the book by themselves, but I realized that we have cases with a deep non-comprehention, they passed by and they don`t have the level. I think is so late for helping them. I`m working but for being real, I don`t have tolos for helping them, I got to work harder to work and do something. By other side I saw something impresive. I was talking with Henry and he helped me

talking about some issues, with parents and kids. I passed somethings of caring and helping them with kids, and of not taking care of the children`s heart. Some of them expressed they feeled abbandoned I`m thinking of I have to go back to basics, to touch the kids hearts and not just being a good teacher, being a disciple of Christ. I`m taking time on things, that are not my purpose, I can do it, but It`s not why I`m there.The Project is going, I think is right but I`m so frightened about how it`s going to be. They had worked with pasión, we got a working routine, a kind of flow where the kids may work in other groups. If school shop finished their work, they help sensaions box, or they may do other group`s decoration or any kind of issue, just for all together do a good presentation. I`m very pleased about their encourage and compromiso with their own ideas is very interesting to see faith in theirselves. They just do what they do. They don`t fear, they amagine and have condedence in their own ideas and walk on their road.Someday they did a party why? I really don`t know. Same day they imagine. They set a party, I didn`t realized when they planned . One they were fixing the classroom, read me a story (I didn`t remember hen was the last time, someone read to me) This was specially cute because they did it as a present for me. They wrote a lot of messages in the board and drawing saying “we love you” “God love you” “you are the best teacher”. I almost cry when Brian said. “We auhat to say thanks to you, because you have done a lot for us”.I can see God`s love in this because I always feel a dry sad because I yell or feel upset with them and they answer with love. It`s a God`s lesson of answer with love and thank fullness. It`s God`s hand that leads this.

En esta parte voy a escribir en español porque vamos a hablar del Bicentenario. Llegò a mis manos un libro que contaba la forma en que se enseñaba hace 200 años con “Te cuento la independencia” leimos el cuento en 3 sesiones donde explicamos cada tèrmino y buscamos entender y compararla con nuestra escuela de hoy en dìa. Entender la escuela Lancasteriana, las personas que asistìan, los centros de educación, la finalidad de la educación nos ayudò a valorar mucho la escuela. Al final ellos hicieron un mural que exponer de manera magistral ante el colegio, fuè muy bonito. El dìa del bicentenario nos disfrazamos de personajes de la época y los niños grandes prepararon presentaciones de los próceres contaando sus vidas y sus logros. Haciendo la evaluación de esto, creo que es bueno que se hayan dado una idea de quienes eran estos hombres y las fiestas.En suma fuè un tiempo de exposición a estas ideas que se iran construyendo y aumentando con el pasar de los años.Pensando en la escuela Lancasteriana, hay un método que yo uso sin saber su origen y es el de nombrar tutores a los màs adelantados para que apoyen a los compañeros. Esta estrategia nos ha funcionado bastante bien, aunque hay que manejar el problema del poder y el orgullo de los tutores, pero en general ha sido muy bueno.

taking the celebrations as on example of the characteristics of each region. In the afternoon I was supposed to teach about blogs. We were trying to use a video beam to show the blog, but it wasn`t posible. But I realized, most of the kids don`t know to much about it, they wrote a sentence, most of them by themselves, so we will see my blog and check the results.

Thursday 4th and friday 5th of november 2010Thursday was a preparation day. All the time was spend in fixing up all the settings for the attractions. While I was doing that, they tryied to practice what they were supposed to say in english, this was a huge mess. But I spend hours setting all the places for the attraction.Friday. The day arrived. It was a sunny day. Kids were exited about it. We moved chairs, pasted all the ads, they brought all the extra stuff, puppets, candies and all the attractions were ready.I realized that we didn`t talked with parents (or send the preschool kids with money, so Henry and me brought money for them).At the school shop we realized most of them didn`t add and substract properly and give the Exchange mone money, buy they were successfull, they just sold all their Candy before the break. They also brought the machine for keep the money. It seems beauty.Theater had lots of problems, they begun right, started they play and did the presentation but Jhonatan got bored, he took the money and buy candies for him, after that he started to annoy at the play, so they had to ask for help because he scrued down the play. I was so angry at him. I took him with Henry and he talked with him.Sand box was a very sucssesful attraction, it was at the sand box and most of them didn`t pay buta ll who enter was impresed. Christian and Nicolas recieved many visitor and guided them properly.Simon Vaquero did a good job teaching about petrolium. They invented a game with a bomb and explained because they didn`t know how to deal with people. I was upset too because some girls of higer grades started bulling the girls. It was sad.The Green house was very good too. They did their resources, obstades, puzzles, magnifying glasses and plants to show the vegetables garden they did it as screntists in a very inteligent way.Picking up all the mess was very hard but we were happy because we could do all the things we planned, it was a hard job and we ought to evaluate.
