What is Cheerleading?• Cheerleading is an organized
activity which involves leading a series of cheers to rally the crowd at sports events.
• It also involves doing difficult stunts and amazing dance routines
• Some people don’t consider cheerleading as a sport but I do, cheerleaders are at the top level of competition and we are actually very serious athletes compared to other athletes out there.
Stunt Basics (half)• There are two basers
which carry most of the weight of the flyer.
• Then you have a back spotter which secures the flyers legs and catches when she cradles.
• The most important is the flyer which is the girl who flies way up in the air.
• This is called a half.
Stunt Basic (full)
• A full is higher than a half the basers push the flyer with all there force to stay up there. The back spotter hold and locks the flyers ankles and helps her get up while the flyer try’s as hard to pick up her weight and squeeze every muscle in her body so she can be lighter for the basers.
How to Cradle?• While cradling the basers will not
bend their arms, though they will bend their legs and use their shoulders for a good clean pop. The flyer will arch and the back spotter will do the same as an elevator cradle pop with their arms. The catch is important because then the flyer doesn't jump out of the cradle. The flyer must keep their legs straight and feel the pop, then arch, fold, and catch themselves.
• Here is a site when you can learn step by step:

Difficult Stunts.• There are so many difficult stunts
out there for cheerleading. Here are some names:• Basket toss• Liberties• Pyramids• Heel stretch• Bow and arrow• Retake• Show and go• Dead man• Arabesque• One mans
Jumps.• There are many types of different
cheerleading jumps as well.• To have good jumps you must
need flexibility and height. Here are some cheerleading jump
names:• Toetouch• Pike• Herkie• Tuck• X jump• Pencil/straight jump
Arm movements/Facials• When doing arm movements for a
cheer or a dance you must ALWAYS be sharp at all times. There are different times of arm movements. Ex: high v, low v, punch, T, touch down, low touchdown, and right and left k.
• When it comes to performing and saying a cheer facials is very important, no cheerleader dances with a frown you must always be happy and spirited. Ways to learn how to facials is pay saying your vowels, try it :)
