What the numbers mean:

The Yellow Blazer is a diamond rich, free cutting blade that is manufactured in the conventional sintered continuous rimdesign. It is similar to Black except for finer diamond on thin-ner core. Yellow is designed for thin kerfs that are suitable forthin cuts on valuable materials such as turquoise, jade, opal,etc. This blade cuts these materials freely, even with watercoolant. It is useful in production trimming of boules of syn-thetic gem materials. Where long life is required, the YellowBlazer is recommended over competitive plated blades.Available in sizes 4” to 14”

Angled expansion slots through the heavy rubber rim allow thedrum to expand when rotated, thereby locking the finishing beltin place. Belts can be quickly changed merely by stopping themachine and slipping off the old belt and sliding on the newone. In use, the resilient drum surface flexes to the gemstone’scontour to quickly remove grinding flats—yet the convex drumconcentrates the cutting action so that scratches are quicklyremoved even from flat surfaces. Rayspan drums are madefrom a specially developed rubber compound which is soft,resilient and durable. Each drum is supplied with telescopicbushings to fit shafts 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" or 1" diameter.

Diamond products appear more costly thanconventional finishing methods utilizing carbide andoxide polishes; however, diamond provides longer lifewhile producing faster, smoother, and overall superiorresults. Many people believe that the more diamondabrasive applied to a surface, the better the results. Intruth, an even dispersal of abrasive is the key to superiorfinishing, not a greater quantity. Therefore, do notattempt to “pile on” diamond abrasive. The results youachieve will be disappointing.

NuBond is the outstanding pre-polish facet lap. A NuBond laprequires little, if any, break-in to produce smooth finishes.Compared to an electrobond lap, it will scratch less and will cutmore consistently over a longer service life.

Multilayer NuBond laps have a higher concentration of friable,self-sharpening diamond bonded directly to a solid aluminumbacker. NuBond laps are precise and true running, lightweightand corrosion resistant.

Important: To replace an electrobond lap, select a NuBond thatis one grit coarser than the electrobond. Even though coarser,NuBond will scratch and chip less and, most important, it willstill be cutting steadily after the electrobond slows to a crawl.

This is the long timefavorite among cut-ters for general use.These high qualityelectro-bond laps givegood performance inthe coarse grades andprovide a fine pre-polish in the finer

grades. All Raytech laps are solid aluminum and precisionground to assure flatness. For more consistent performance ina polish lap, consider Raytech NuBond.

The preferred electro-bond dia-mond disc for preformingand cutting in largefacets. The channeledconstruction providesexceptionally fast cuttingaction while improvingcoolant flow and swarfremoval. Use Dimafast Fwhen heavy cutting orfast cutting is desired.

Fast Lap

A most versatile polishing lap, especially useful with diamondpolishes. Fine metal particles embedded in a tough resin binderprovide the diamond holding properties of metal with thegrooving resistance of a reinforced resin structure. The micro-scopically interrupted surface eliminates any need for scoringand reduces the tendency to scratch. The Fast Lap is mosteffective when used with Raytech Diamond Spray in combina-tion with Raytech Thinner (see page 13). Also useful withoxide polishes.
