Firstly, the netball side of things, they went from 2 sides in 2015 to 4 sides in 2016. With 3 of the 4 sides making finals, 2 making the grand final and Division 1 winning there 8th title, great news that they will now have a 5th side in 2017 and are growing at rapid rate which is fantastic for our club. Kristie Gannon, Brooke George and Carolyn Hanson especially should be acknowledged for all the hard work they are doing in this area. On the football side as most, know our reserves coach Caine Lowrie has moved into a development role at Northern Knights to further develop his coaching career and we wish him all the best. We are proud to announce that his replacement for 2017 is Brenton Hoppe a distinguished past player of the club and we think he will be excellent in the role and will contribute to the club enormously. Recruiting has been very fruitful, Josh Marchbank who will boost our ruck stocks, at 6 foot 7 in the old scale has previously played at Eltham, Benalla and the Northern Blues and is a two-time Goulburn Valley Football League representative. With experience at TAC and VFL level he is a great acquisition for the club and is also a playing assistant coach. He has already had a huge influence on the training track and we expect big things from Josh this year. We have many other recruits, too many to go through in this report but they include Jess Cosaitis who kicked 76 goals for Bonnie Doon in the Ovens and King Football League last year, his teammate, backman Josh Alam and Josh Lorey who brings over 70 games of Division 1 senior experience from Eltham who will bolster our midfield stocks. Put this along with some achievements from last year. 13 individual under 19 players played senior football last year, many playing significant numbers of games in the seniors along with the side also winning the under 19 premiership suffering only 1 loss for the year. In the senior preliminary final side 14 players were aged 21 or under, and our under 17 side also played finals last year showing that we are putting together a fairly impressive list of talent and depth to take us into the next sustainable era of success for the DCFNC. Also in 2017 we will be investing in upgrading our lights to ensure we can play twilight games in the future which will give significant added benefit to both the Senior and Junior Clubs. For any people interested in a chance of winning $450 per week our fantastic Diamond 45 club is always looking for new members and you can contact David Taylor 0403 024 456 for details. This coterie group is a vital asset to the club going forward and we thank all members for their generous support.

Diamond Creek Football and Netball Club

We have the annual DCFNC golf day coming up on February 24 at Heidelberg Golf Club. Anyone interested in supporting this great and fun event please contact John Empey 0416 160 636 for details. Also during the year, we look forward to honouring our 1982 and 1992 premiership sides to celebrate their 35th and 25th anniversaries respectively with more information to follow during the year in this regard. Attached is our sponsorship information package and we ask that you please peruse to see if there is an opportunity for yourself, your business or a business of someone you know to support the club. Without our sponsors, we would not be able to keep growing the club the way we are and also thank them for their generous support and urge our whole football and netball club communities to support these businesses as they support us. In finishing, we are determined as a committee, coaching and playing group to not just win the Division 2 premiership but build a sustainable on and off field structure that will also guarantee us competitiveness and eventual success in Division 1 also. This is the time to get on board and show your colours for your great club. DCFNC Committee

Diamond Creek Football and Netball Club  Since 1888, the Diamond Creek Football Club has provided a community focus for regional recreation. A key aim of any football club is to have on field success and win premierships. The Diamond Creek Football Club has certainly performed admirably in this regard having achieved Nine Seniors Premierships and a host of Reserves and Under 19’s flags. And yes it’s quite true to say that the Senior Club has been a leader in the region throughout the last 128 years. We pride ourselves in having a local Football and Netball Club for the youth to aspire to join and develop Teamwork and Leadership Skills.

Today the club continues to build on the success of a vital, active, gritty and highly successful Junior Football Club as proven by the Under 14 Team achieving a Premiership in 2016.

We have seen how the development opportunities offered by both Junior and Senior Clubs has resulted in some great memories for players, parents and families which is highlighted by four club greats Max Hudgston, Heath and Rhys Shaw, and Jack Anthony going on to make their mark at the highest level, and we are sure there will be many more that aspire and go onto demonstrate the benefits of a solid development at DCFNC as Darcy McPherson did with the Gold Coast Suns in 2016. In recent times the club has adopted the recommendations of the AFL and strengthened interests with the Diamond Creek Netball Club to develop in the long term a strong sporting club in the region.

Going forward, the Club is determined to drive on field success and re‐establish itself as a dominant and successful long term Club within Division One of the Northern Football League. Our Senior Coach, Craig Hayes has now seen the successful potential going forward. Craig brings to the Role 180 games of experience with the Heidelberg FC inclusive of two Premierships, two years as Assistant Coach, a Best & Fairest and finally was named in the Heidelberg team of the decade for the 2000’s. Haysey is on a mission to build the club into a First Division force.

Continuous  improvement in all areas of the Club operations from improved recruiting, better club facilities to rival those in the region, Professional club management, with  a  drive  to  improve  and  sustain  long  term  relationships with  Sponsors  of  all  levels  and  finally  an  absolute  determination  to  build relationships at all levels within the wider Diamond Creek Community. The Senior sides improved their performances in season 2016 with both the Seniors and Reserves playing finals football and the Under 19’s winning the 2016 Premiership.

We are part of this Community, of this great Town, from the youngest to the oldest and we are very Proud of Our History and we wish to invite you to be involved as a Sponsor of our Successful Future.

President’s 2017 Club Vision   We go into Season 2017 with great excitement after our successful 2016 behind us with our Senior and Reserve sides finishing preliminary finalists and our Under 19 Premiers.  Yet again our netballers showed us how it's done by winning their 7th premiership in a row in Division 1 and growing their numbers to have 4 competitive teams.  We have spent a considerable amount of time in the S.A.L.T. Programme which involves educating our players in drug, alcohol, leadership and respect for women, along with an affiliation with the Step Back and Think Foundation. All of these steps are to educate all involved and to make sure all of our young members become better people in our community.  We look forward to any success that may come our way and I am confident with our coaching staff of Craig Hayes, Peter Barnes and Kristie Gannon they will lead us in that direction.  2017 will be a year in which we believe will see our young talent excel and our Club will be in a strong position for years to come.  Good luck to everyone involved, DCFNC, a great place to be.  Luke Prosser, President DCFNC   Individual 2016 Achievements: ‐

Football Coach’s 2017 Club Vision   Supporters,  Committee,  Sponsors  and  Players welcome  to my  vision  for  the  Diamond  Creek  Football  Club  for  2017.  Off  the  back  of  our  strong improvement through the course of the 2016 season  I am extremely buoyant about this playing group’s potential  for success  in the upcoming 2017 season. 2017 will be no doubt be an exciting one for our club, with finals football definitely part of the vision and a top two spot the goal at the end of the home and away season.  2016 saw the playing group further develop our style of play, which resulted in some very exciting wins and improved our ability to kick winning scores as well as restricting opposition totals with our team defence.  As a result, we were the second best defensive team in the competition, however this combined with the increase in our scoring capacity resulted in an increase of wins from the previous year, even though our fixture had us playing the other  top  three sides 8  times  in a 16  round competition, once you exclude  the byes. We also saw 4 debutants  (Under 17 & 19 players)  into senior football and a number of our under 19 players continuing to be exposed to senior footy through the course of the season.  In 2017 I envisage that the playing group will continue to make significant improvements both as a team and as individuals.  We should see this partly through the natural development of the Under 17 & 19 players who are coming through but also through a greater understanding of the game plan. The club has been pro‐active through the off season and has attracted a combination of experienced senior footballers as well as some exciting younger players.   The club has also been able to retain the entire existing senior playing group from 2016.  This will lead to greater depth within the club and fiercer competition for positions within the senior 22. The Diamond Creek Football Club in 2017 will be a strong competitive team that plays disciplined, accountable football; with emphases on developing our offensive flair that is fast paced, skilful and exciting to watch.  The Diamond Creek Football Club in 2016 continued to take significant steps forward both as a playing group but also with its culture. The club invested heavily in putting the players through programs that will not only assist them to be better footballers but also to be good men. A football club is not only about producing good footballers, it also has a responsibility to help young men on their journey in life to become good and in some cases great men.  I believe this 2017 group are ready to make their own piece of history.  This will take a lot of hard work and there will be significant challenges along the journey, but I am confident this young, talented and exciting group can achieve great things.    Craig Hayes, Senior Coach

Netball Coach’s 2017 Club Vision   The Netball Club of  the Diamond Creek  Football and Netball Club  joined  the Northern Netball  League  competition  in  its  inaugural  season  in 2008. Winning the Division One Grand Final set the standard of the club’s intentions for the years to come.  Nine years on and the Netball Club of the Diamond Creek Football and Netball Club have won eight out of nine Division One premierships.  In 2016 we grew to four teams with three of those four teams participating in finals and two of the four teams playing in the Grand Finals with Division One securing another premiership.  The growth of our netball division in 2016 also welcomed our first major netball sponsor on a three‐year deal and supplying all players with a match day game and warm up top. We are very appreciative of ROHVIC fasteners for coming on board with us as the major netball sponsor in 2016 and beyond. This allows us to further develop the netballers into the future and further grow our presence in the league and the community.  85% of our netballers found player sponsors for the season and we look forward to 100% for the coming seasons. We are still looking for more major sponsors to come on board and join our great club.  As a netball club we  strive  to continue  to grow allowing our young passionate youth  from our  local community  to  join our dedicated and  talented players.  Kristie Gannon, Senior Coach
