Federa airport proposal sent forenvironmental clearance.
The proposal for the greenfield air-port just outside Dholera SIR has gonefor environmental clearance to the Gov-ernment of India. Well-placed govern-ment sources said, "To be set up next toFedera village, the Airport Authority ofIndia (AAI) has forwarded its applica-tion, on behalf of the state government,to the Union ministry of environmentand forests for environment clearance.The AAIhas done this after its feasibili-ty report for the airport has found theproject viable. Once environmentalclearance is obtained, the process of get-ting a license to set up the airport fromthe Union civil aviation ministry - a for-mality- will begin."

Federa Airport Proposal Goes.For Environmental Clear. neeGandhinagar: The Gujarat govern-ment has put the work for introducingsix town planning (TP) schemes across902sq km area of the Dholera Special In-vestment Region (SIR) in Ahmedabaddistrict on the fast track. Already, twoTPschemes are in the process of finaliza·tion, with preliminary survey and vil-lage-wise hearing having come to anend. Now,plans are afoot to put out theirdraft by February 2012in order to inviteobjections.
"The two TP schemes are proposedfor 15,000hectares (ha) of land next tothe Dholera township. It is here that Sa-bir Bhatia's Nano City has beenplanned", sources in the Gujarat Infras-tructure Development Board (GIDB),which handles the Dholera SIR for thestate government, said, adding, '~s soonas the draft is out, infrastructure devel·opment in the two townships will begin.
The two TP schemes will be finalizedbyApril 2012."
Asfor the rest of the fOUI"TPschemes,GIDB-sourcessaid, an order has been is-sued to'kick-start their survey. "We ex-pect, the work for these four TP schemesto be over by December 2012.This willmake the entire Dholera SIR ready totake off as a new-age city", a senior offi-cialsaid.
With the TP schemes floated, alreadyreal estate activity in the region haspicked up. This is especially true of Am-bli, Kajipur and Gogla villages, wherethe first TP scheme is proposed, as alsoalso Dholera, Rab-talav, Dhun, Badiad,Gorasu, Hotaria and Mundi villages,where the second TP schemes isplanned.
