even before entering college years ago, i had always been involved in sales. Following my ownership of an art gallery in georgetown in the mid-1970s, i met my future wife and she convinced me that i if he were to remain in sales, i should sell expensive things! so i got into real estate…

Although the income from being a successful real estate agent is attractive, the most satisfying part of my job is seeing sellers and buyers excited with the results of my efforts to either sell their home or find them a new home. After 33 years, I still get a big kick out of a happy and satisfied client.

i am very loyal, completely committed to them, and highly ethical. Both my peers and my clientele know me as the most thorough real estate professional with extraordinary market knowledge, experience, and a great track record. i also believe that i have an incomparable network of industry insiders and the area’s finest builders, and I have these resources available at all times.

My family is a huge part of my life, of course. But i also love to travel, both domestically and internationally. i like golf, tennis, music and movies too. And i love a good sense of humor!

As one of the first area realtors to adopt the team approach, I have solidified myself as the number one choice in representation for clients who demand optimum service. Whether as a buyer-broker or as a seller’s listing agent, i have consistently maintained a track record of success for the clients i represent.

DHM: What Real Estate trends did you see in 2013? What do you foresee for 2014?

MF: In 2013, the market began to stabilize and in neighborhoods under $2 million, homes were finding multiple buyers in some instances. Washington Dc with its millennium buyers was red hot. Bethesda and chevy chase continued to attract many buyers and the Potomac and outer suburbs found excellent values available.

It is difficult to assess what may happen in the 2014 market as lenders will have increasing scrutiny from the federal government looking over their shoulders and the Dodd-Frank bill with its new qualification lending limitations may make it more difficult for many buyers to get financing.

Yet having said this, the Washington Dc marketplace will still remain very active and strong as there is a pent up demand by buyers in a market that has evidenced a smaller inventory of homes.
