Dhiraj and Manisha Pariyar in front of their house. Their old house was destroyed during last last year's monsoons. Prakash used our compassion funds to rebuild this house for this dear couple and their baby. (He took this photo an hour ago.) One year ago, Prakash, the director of our senior project in Parshadhap, felt compelled to go to the mud and bamboo home of the a young couple. Both the husband (Dhiraj) and the wife (Manisha) are lame. They live with his parents and have a small baby. It was at "festival time" in Nepal when Hindus perform many pujas (rituals) as they worship various gods. While Prakash visited with the couple, he shared the truth of the gospel and these two precious young adults prayed to receive Jesus as their savior. Both Dhiraj and Manisha continued to grow in their faith and have been praying for their parents to also come to Jesus. Their prayers came true on October 15th during a senior program at the church in Meghauli! Our mission team had the privilege of being present. The format for the senior programs includes singing, dancing, playing games, a short devotional, and lunch. At the start of the devotional time, Dhiraj shared his testimony.

Dhiraj shares as Prakash translates into English for the team members... Dhiraj's testimony was followed by a short message by Pastor Dan (one of the team members) and a greeting and more words about following Jesus from my brother, Joe. I then had the joy of further explaining the "Good News". When I

gave the invitation, Dhiraj's parents, along with his mother-in-law who was visiting from another village, came forward and gave their lives to Christ! You should

have seen the joy, not only on their faces, but on the faces of this precious young couple who saw the Lord work a miracle in the lives of these three who had been

so angry at them when they came to Christ. Jaimasih!

Prakash (right) translates as we lead three people to Christ.

Pastor Dan is next to Prakash. The young mother is on the left praying. Her mother is on her right.

The team departed for the USA on Saturday. We are now hosting our good friend, Pastor Steve Brandon, from Rockford, IL. He arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday afternoon. We visited the Boudha Children's Home on Thursday and went to Bhakunde yesterday. This morning we departed Kathmandu at 5:45 to get to Meghauli in time for the church service where Steve shared the message. We are encouraged to have him with us for a few days.

We had a great day at the children's home and at the church in Bhakunde where nearly 200 young people were gathered together for a three day retreat. It was so encouraging to witness this special event as we recalled that just a few years ago there were only a handful of Christians in the area! While at the Bhakunde Children's Home, I shot the following video of our little girls singing a beautiful song. Please click the following link to see and listen. Please let me know if it works! Share your video It is so nice that Bobbie was able to travel with me this time. She has been a blessing to everyone, especially to me:-)
