DHARAVI..

It is THE LARGEST SLUM in Asia.

Covering an area of 175hectares, it has a population of over 1million people and a turnover of Rs.3000 crores.

Dharavi provides cheap alternative where people can stay , live and work for Rs.500 per month.

Dharavi exports goods around the world.

Lack of privacy ,hygiene and progress.

Dharavi is a cauldron bubbling with enterprise ,with a NEVER SAY DIE attitude.

With an atmosphere of optimism and positivity they live here , work here, marry here and die here.

SNEHA( Society for Nutrition , Education and Health Action).

Created a catalyst of change for women suffering from domestic violence.

Hanifabi aimed to make women come forward to fight for themselves and for others.

Land of White Gold

• AYYAPPAN IDLI STALL

• Panju Swamy came from Tamil Nadu as a boy, and now runs the Ayyappan Idli Stall, making 20,000 idlis a day in 10ft X 10ft huts.

Final Thoughts..

• “Hum log cement ke ghar mein nahin, insaaniyat ke ghar mein rehte hain”.

• There is no founder, no CEO , but this is an entrepreneurial organization where each works independently but still DEPENDENT on each other.

• Dharavi should be celebrated and replicated.

• Poverty is nothing but a state of mind.
