DGI VT Print Head Adaptation For both VT II and VT IV The DGI VT printers use Xaar XJ-128 128/80 print heads, but they are mounted in a harness. The procedure for swapping a print head is real simple and straightforward. Just have a look at the inforgraphic below to see the various components and guidelines. REMOVE THE OLD PRINT HEAD FROM THE HARNESS The old Print Head needs to be removed from the harness prior to installing the new one. You start by disconnecting the ink line connector . Pinch the metal clamp and pull the ink tube carefully to do so. Also keep in mind that some ink might be spilled while doing this, so use some wipes to rest the harness upon. Next remove the 4 screws retaining the Print Head to the Harness with a small Philips screwdriver. They are indicated in the picture by . When all 4 screws are removed, you can disconnect the print head from the harness. Installation of the new print head happens in reverse order.
