THE PROJECT IDEA
Desire to exchange information and good practice and to compare the models/standards of good practice about knowledge and promotion of the traditional sports and games with European stakeholders.
Focus on historical and cultural common origin of the traditional sports and game in Europe, an essential part of the intangibile local heritage and an important symbol of the cultural diversity of our societies.
Know the values of traditional sports and games means to know the cultural and traditional identity of a Country.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
1. Promote, develop and safeguard the traditional sports and games in Europe and their common values within an international context of local development-oriented
2. Develop in Europe the knowledge and practice of sports and traditional games as a symbol of identity and the historical and cultural heritage of a territory;
3. Encourage the construction of shared programs of European cooperation and of thematic networks, integrated, interactive and multi-functional, able to face future challenges and therefore able to ensure the future sustainability of the project;
4. Disseminate heritage and knowledge of sports and traditional games in Europe.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- Encourage the promotion and exchange of knowledge, experience and good practice;
- Create the basis for sustainable socio-economic and tourist development of the territories through the rediscovery of places, symbols and traditional and popular activities and historical memory of a people;
- Involve different stakeholders on the various territories, in able to develop, to promote and to safeguard the immense heritage represented by the traditional sports and games;
- Create a calendar of events and initiatives oriented to as wider audience as possible;
- Ensure the future, economic, strategic and functional sustainability of the project;
- Construction of a wide, diversified and integrated communication plan with use of different means, channels and codes.

EUROPEAN CONTEST Ga.MES @ EU and its AWARD
CEREMONY
With the realisation of the EUROPEAN GAMES
DAYS, this is the most important result of the
project. Participants were young people (16-25
years, in 2 categories: A. from 16 to 19 B. from 20
to 25) that took part at the competition submitting:
• Researches about traditional sports and games
in the Eropean history;
• Projects about how safeguard traditional sports
and games in future.

FOLLOW-UP OF THE PROJECT
It is guaranteed with the foundation of a real
Network of stakeholders all over Europe.
This Network was born from the project
Ga.M.E.S.Net and it will continue including
other partners engaged through AEJST
(Association Européenne des Jeux et Sports
Traditionnels), an European association that
works to preserve traditional sports and games.
An action of the Ga.M.E.S.Net project dedicated to the
follow-up and the sustainability of the project is the writing
and signature of the PROGRAMME AGREEMENT.
An internal agreement between all
14 partners with the aims to
regulate the relationships between
all members, indicate tasks for
each one and regulate the entrance
of new members.
Main objectives of the PROGRAMME
AGREEMENT and tasks for all members are:
Develop aims of Ga.M.E.S.Net project;
Increase the network with different European
stakeholders (fostering the collaboration
between public and private organization);
Promote the heritage of traditional sports and
games, above all between young people;
Organization of European events and local
initiatives for the promotion and
communication;
Last but not least….
Find funding opportunities at regional,
national or European level.
About this, FIGEST is working on a new project
proposal for the EU Programme ERASMUS +
SPORT, call for proposal SMALL
COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIP IN THE SPORT
FIELD – Deadline 12th May 2016.
