Vision Development of community enterprise for livelihood improvement

Background:

Our project have promoted sustainable agriculture and upgraded quality of life of small scale farmers through local scholar learning centers that use concept of “farmer trained farmer”. The target group have attained the training from the local scholar and form the group to produce local foods for increasing incomes. Regarding the project evaluation, the group desired to improve quality of products and expand a market.

THE FARMERS WERE TRAINED BY PRACH CHAO BANN

IN ORDER TO REALIGN THEIR WAY OF LIFE.

Example of training activities:

The farmers were trained by Prach Chao Bann in order to realign their way of life.

General objectives:

Income increasing through group development and community business management

Specific objectives: 1. Capacity building on group management

and group networking2. To develop appropriate food processing

technology in achieving food standard for fermented fish, preserved fruits and chili paste

Target: Klong Bang Nam Jued Chili paste production group, Samutprakan province, central Thailand

Partners: Samut Prakan Local Scholar Learning center, Klong Bang Nam Jued Tambol Administration organization, Provincial Agriculture and cooperatives Office, Food and Drug Organization, Food Research Institute, University and Procasur Thaiand

Resources:

Economic: 2,500 US dollar

Material: Chili production machine

Human : resource persons from best practice food processing group, university and local scholar

Sustainability:

The development of group network, application of appropriate food processing technology and establishment of marketing plan increase income of small scale farmers contribute to upgrading quality of life in rural area
