Southeast Asian countries are making rapid economic progress, and their large population is expected to have a great impact on the world’s energy situation and the environment. The countries are situated in tropical areas; hence they possess abundant lignocellulosic biomass resources

JIRCAS proposes “AGRI+CHEMICAL” manufacturing process that produces to electric power, liquid fuels, chemicals and materials from methane gas (CH4) as starting chemical compound through saccharification of lignocellulosic biomass

The outcome of AGRI+CHEMICAL expects to contribute to the increase of eco-friendly energy resources as well as the construction of sustainable land use and food production (SDGs) through the bioeconomy.
