Biological national monitoring data Very few monitoring programmes cover all groups (benthos, plankton,
birds, …)= Gaps in taxonomic coverage Temporal span: start 70’s, 80’s, 90’s = no real historical data (pre-50’s) Comparison between national programmes? = e.g. sampling methodologies identical or
comparable? Fine-tuning of national programmes on European level?
