As the resettlement is taking place in the Northern Province, in

the year 2010 the Department of Co-operative development

mainly focuses on the resettlement areas and takes measures touplift the livelihood of the vulnerable people through the Co-

operative sector.

In 2010, although 23.61 Mn under PSDG and 28.34 Mn under

CBG allocated to the department of cooperative development

originally, later 50 Mn was allocated according to the urgent

needs of the province for the development programs.

In 2010, 48.73 Mn was utilized for the upliftment of the Co-

operative sector as well as the people.

More funds are used to provide better services to the resettled

area people. This year activities also mainly focus on the

livelihood of the public. Fund is used to reactivate the localproductions from Palmyra, Micro Credit facilities and Capacity

Building programs for the society members.

Further, action plan was prepared to activate the Co-operatives

which were defunding due to the conflict situation in the

Northern Province.
