• Satellites used for monitoring of Chlorophyll a (EU Water Framework

Directive) and sediment transport

– Mature pre-HIGHROC services based on MERIS/MODIS (~300m,

1/day)

• HIGHROC project has developed new products and services:

– High spatial resolution, ~10-30m (Sentinel-2, Landsat-7/8)

– High temporal resolution, ~15mins (METEOSAT Second Gen.)

• ... and is busy validating and having these tested by Users

• User Service Trials will be carried out in the test regions for Oct 2016-Sep 2017:

– Belgian North Sea

– Port of Zeebrugge and Scheldt

– UK North Sea waters

– German coastal waters

– Norwegian waters

– French river plumes/estuaries

and worldwide
