PersonalIdentity
1. What market segment are you targeting to work in?
Over the past couple of years I have developed a few interests. One is the fitness community. The determination and will it takes to change your body and motivate others is something that appeals to me. Another is a love of languages. Ive studied French as a child growing up in New Orleans, Spanish in high school, Mandarin Chinese in college, and recently Japanese. I don’t have a particular field that I want to work in even though I’m enjoying backend devlopment more than anything. I’m just searching for something exciting and fresh that I can also make a living off of and feed my kids.
2. What portion of web design and development do you excel in?
I can figure out coding things pretty quickly, like backend stuff, database processing, tweaking programming.
3. What do you enjoy most about web design and development?
Making things function. I see cool things and think up exciting things and I just wanna figure out how things work.
4. What do you enjoy least about web design and development?
I dislike frontend interface design. It feels boring to me. Everything tends to fall in the same place and it seems like most are just trying to be different for the sake of being different versus making something functional. I become very bored with things like typography. It feels overly unnecessary.
5. What skills, perspective, of life experience set you apart from other designers or developers?
I try my hardest to do what is necessary. What seems like slow work is attention to detail and learning why things are necessary versus just turning out random things quickly with templates I find online. I don’t want to make random things. I want to find out why things do what they do and how to make it work better.

I want to be the type of web developer that makes technology easy to understand. I’m curious as to how things work and how to make them work better. The technical issues of interface work is fascinating to me and if I can sort it out and help others understand it then I have done my job.
