DESIGN BRIEF

A swot analysis of the life education trust concludes that there is a gap in the market for a child Internet awareness programme.

Research and design a product which encourages internet awareness in an experience. Take into account the user, their age, culture, religion and gender.

De�ne awareness; consider the functionality of the product, lifespan, rela-tionship between user and product.

Allow the product to be managed by the parents of the user.

LIFE EDUCATIONLife Education trust is my chosen company as they raise awareness to young people.Trevor Grice founded Life Education trust in 1988. After being endorsed by the govt as a trust in 1989 they went on to work with school principals to develop their programme. They now o�er 19 learning modules to primary and intermediate schools that can be adapted to meet speci�c curriculum needs.

A touch blanket (touch-screen incorporated with OLED and a textile) a tangible experience interactive to sound light and touch.

The blanket will be controlled by’ Chrome OS’ an inter-net based operating system so the blanket will store information on the internet and get faster over time as updates are released. And will be able to grow with your child.

The blanket will light up at night to provide light and comfort, it will sense the sound of crying and play a soft lullaby. As the child gets older the downloadable applications will be learning games and educational videos.

For the children of Generation Alpha (born 2010 and onwards), their lives will be surrounded by technology. Relying on technology will be a social norm (it already is).

Children will take comfort in their Tech Blan-ket; it will keep them safe in this technological world. The Alpha Generation use technology as a toy and are naieve about the potential that it holds, its wonders and its terrors.

Life Education Trusts modules will be more web based focusing on the importance of awareness.

Also focusing on issues of security, identity theft and hackers

This is just a concept and in no way a resolved idea. The main point to show is this narrative of the Alpha Generation living and breathing a digital culture.

This is how society can change to accommodate the new generation.
