~ In last months newsletter it was advised that a blog-type page had been added to the website. I made an error

with directions of how to locate the page. There are two options - either from the Home Page by clicking on The

Barberry Blog (written in red) or by going directly to the page (this is the now the correction) -

and news of my puppy and my latest stitching projects in Blog #6. As for Facebook - well, I’ve done it - but I’m still

struggling with how this works. My poor granddaughter (my tutor) is almost in despair! However, if you would like

Designs: Sadly, Judy of JBW Designs was not able to be at the Nashville Trade Show this year due to it being

held a couple of weeks later than usual. Judy had previously made other arrangements for this time of year (not

knowing that TNNA would change their usual dates) and therefore was committed to these. She was so

disappointed, as she had not missed a show for 18 years! However, her new designs were on display and these

are -

JBW 271 - Alphabet Hearts: The third design in her new Stitch-A-Long series. As its title suggests - alphabet

letters and hearts of all different styles and sizes, all worked in varying shades of rose pink and greens. $18.50

JBW 272 - Alphabet Cats: Two little cats - a momma and a kitty, each shape being creted by Judy’s clever use

of letters of the alphabet. Finish as hanging ornaments as per the models with silver pussy cat charms hanging

from the bottom of each or frame the pieces. $10.00

JBW 273 - French Alphabet Sampler: an adaptation of a beautiful old French sampler owned by Judy. Apart

from the design shown, there are charts for several alphabet styles and a history of the piece is included in the

chart pack.

Designs: As always, lots of new items from Sandie, of The Sweetheart Tree - designs with the silver

embellishments included and others as complete kits. These are -

SWT:TK 085 - My Little Tooth Fairy Pillow: This design is sure to bring

a “gap toothed” smile to the face of little ones who have recently lost a

tooth. I wonder what the sweet surprise will be for them when they put

their precious tooth in the pocket at bedtime and awake in the morning to

find something special left from the Tooth Fairy? The gender neutral

design is suitable for girls and boys. When worked on a 28 count linen,

this little design measures approximately 4½” by 8”. “My Little Tooth

Fairy Pillow” features a darling, detailed Tooth Fairy and a delicate

scalloped border accentuated with multi-coloured pastel buttons and

beads. Inside the border you’ll find a sweet verse and a tiny pocket to

hold the baby tooth. This pillow will surely become one to be passed

down to younger brothers and sisters over the years. As always with all Teenie Kits, everything you need to stitch

this design is included in the kit. $47.50

SWT:TK 086 - Grapes on the Vine: Another all-inclusive kit - perfect

for wine lovers! This piece is to be worked on 28 count ‘Platinum’

coloured linen in warm and inviting amethyst & green tones. You’ll

love the sparkling deep purple facetted beads which form a cluster of

grapes in the centre - they really shine! Two beautifully detailed

borders surround the ‘grapes’ and are accentuated with Magnifica

beads which perfectly match in colour. They add the “bling” factor

and suit this stunning design perfectly. $45.00

SWT:BP 015 - Pinecones in Winter Biscornu: This Biscornu features tiny

“over-one” pinecones hanging from their stylish pine boughs. One can imagine

SWT:T 176 - Itty Bitty Kitty - Irish Pot of Gold: The fifth in a mini-series featuring Sandie’s adorable little black kitten. To date the other little designs have

featured this dear little feline in different seasonal settings, but in this design she is guarding the full-to-overflowing Pot of Gold left behind by some little

Leprechaun. Embellishments included with the design are three tiny white flower beads. Design & Embellishments: $25.00

SWT:T 177 - Keep Calm & Freak Out Fob: This fob depicts Sandie’s whacky sense of humour! This two-side fob is based on the old English war saying,

“Keep Calm and Carry On”, but Sandie has added a more up-to-date sentiment for times when you just need to “Panic and Freak Out”. Crystal-Clear paillettes

embellishments add a bit of sparkle and are included with the design. Design & Embellishments. $25.00
