Graduate student – forces motivate them : career options of previous students, role models in their fields of choice, similarly, lack of opportunities and competition in their field of interest often de-motivate them , besides, in the era of globalization international and domestic job market play a crucial role

Hurdles : failure to follow their true instinct, lack of faith in their own creativity, risk averseness, societal/parental pressure, lack of confidence

Career counselor: helps in career exploration, personal career development, career change, and other career related issues. While an HR may have industry specific understanding, a career counselor may give an overall idea about trends and opportunities in job market/preferences of job seekers

Though, in many cases people avoid professional career counselor, instead, they find advice from their superiors or peers working in the same line more useful. Sometimes, career counselor just force the student to go for popular trades with market demand neglecting their natural talent, inclination and interest.
