benefits over 500 charities in our Pamida hometowns. This charity event raises $1 Million for these organizations which include hunger relief programs, children’s charities, local schools, libraries, and many many others. The opportu-nity to encourage and assist children and help those less fortunate continues to drive this special event.

Together… We Can Make a Difference relay for lifeMore than 20 years ago, one man took it upon himself to raise money to support the efforts of the American Cancer Society. To-day, more than three million Americans participate in Relay events nationwide. Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. Contribu-tions from the Pamida Foundation support Relay events in many of our hometowns.

the sturgis centerThe Sturgis Center for the Arts, Inc. is dedicated to enriching the community of Sturgis and surrounding area through the arts. Edu-cation is their cornerstone. They believe in a “spectrum” of educa-tion for children that begins with individual lessons and practice; moves toward more interaction with other musicians and artists; and eventually continues toward more formal performances, displays, and presentations in front of other people. The Pamida Foundation encourages this community enrichment with their support.

falls city libraryThe excitement is building in Falls City, NE as construction of the new library progresses. Local children enjoy many programs at the library including the summer reading program “Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales” featuring guest readers, live animals, arts and crafts, entertainment and carnival day. The Pamida Foundation proudly supports the library’s innovative approach to inspiring children.
