Parthenon is a large-scale naturalstone look from Mannington thatcontrasts a soft surface texturewith worn, chiseled edges and isfeatured in a rectangular layout.
In addition to being durable, waterproof, easy-to-clean and aordable, sheet vinyl products havegotten a bit of a makeover, intriguing newcustomers (including the coveted Millennial) whomay have originally been inclined to write theproduct o as dated.
“We’re seeing a bit of a reawakening in thatcategory,” said Kurt Denman, executive vicepresident of sales at Congoleum.
With advances in printing, dedicated designers and a renewed focus on the category, many manufacturers are revamping their sheet vinyl collections, adding new designsand enhancing tried-and-true classics.
Into the Woods Wood looks are a staple of just about every ooring category, and sheet vinyl is no
exception. “What’s most important to the consumer is that it looks authentic andreal,” said David Sheehan, senior vice president of product management at IVC. Andthey want those wood visuals to be on-point with contemporary trends and fashions, which include muted neutrals in warm grays and taupes, as well as rened rusticlooks.

Romancing the Stone Natural stone looks are always popular in sheet vinyl, and thanks to advancements
in printing technology, such as EIR, those visuals are more realistic and appealing

“Typically, what you see going on in real tile and stone visuals, we’re going to have
those visuals in sheet vinyl,” Sheehan said, adding that IVC and Mohawk’s sheet vinyl

Color Wheel One trend Mary Katherine Dyczko-Riglin, product manager for residential sheet vinyl
with Mannington, would like to see more of in sheet vinyl is pops of color. “It tends to
be riskier for people to put that on their oors, and when you’re talking about sheet
vinyl as opposed to tile, you’re really committing to putting it across the whole oor,”
she said. But color can help make a statement without being overwhelming.
A 1920’s throwback, Mannington’s Penny Lane is a small-scale marble hexagon designwith colorful insets.
Lattice is an Art Deco small-scale basket weave pattern from Mannington, combining thelook of natural Carrara marble with colorful insets.
Prints & Patterns Dyczko-Riglin said patterned ooring is trending right now. “It had been aspirational
from a ooring standpoint, but now we can bring that to the consumer and say, youcan get that on a tighter budget, you can still make it part of your remodel or yournew home and have the look you want,” she explained. Popular patterns includechevron, herringbone, and vintage and retro prints.
Patterns like chevron and herringbone, seen here in IVC’s Flexitec sheet vinyl, are alsopopular in tile and hardwood.
Inspired by vintage ornate metalwork, Filigree from Mannington is a weathered, timewornlook with a vintage oral motif. Its weathered, hand-painted pattern lends authenticity tothe design.
