Joshua Frazer is a graphic designer / illustrator working in Kenosha, between the cities of Chicago and Milwaukee.
He graduated in May 2009 from the University of Wisconsin - Parkside with a Bachelor of Art degree. While at Parkside, he served as President of the Art Club, assisted with the National Small Print Show, and worked as UW-Extension’s web / graphic designer.
He founded the web comic, The Adventures of the Nautilus, and occasionally teaches classes about making comics.
Joshua is experienced in a variety of media: 3d animation, digital and traditional painting, and traditonal printmaking (intaglio, relief, and lithography). He also works as a web developer and designer. Some of his clients include: 4-H, Accu-cut Diamond, and Family Foot Clinics.
PRINT DESIGNbrochures, logos, & illustration
4H
4HThese materials were based off an existing design. The orignal posters featured poor quality photograpy and we were unable to secure the orignial files to change the design. I rebuilt the posters from scratch to fit with the original materials. I then updated the photos and text to better fit the message 4-H was trying to convey. The posters and adverising materials have since been distrubuted state wide.
2009 Urban ExtensionThe 2009 Urban Extension Conference brought together Urban Extension professionals from across the country so they could ex-change ideas and experinces. Starting from scratch, I designed post-cards, posters, email blasts, and other materials to help promote this program and to be used during presentations.
Youth As Resources
RKNEP Brochure
RKNEP helps families on government food programs learn to eat healthier. Before I designed this brochure, the RKNEP was without any printed matieral which they could use to promote their services. Using images they provided, along with some stock photos provided by the USDA, I created this brochure so that they were able to better promote their programs.
Logo DesignWhile working at UW-Extension, I had the oppurtunity to work on logos for many different programs. I have also designed alternate logos for the UW Parkside Art Club and other freelance projects.
16 Hours to Live DisplayI created this display stand for an indy comic which I created entitled “16 Hours to Live”. I created the back board graphics as well as the design and construction of the foam-core stands.
Youth As Resources
The Youth As Resources (YAR) program helps youth secure funding for community projects. I redesigned their brochures so that the materials would be easier to read and more organized. The printed brochures also match the online materials that I developed.
In 13 We TrustA personal poster project that I created using Illustrator/flash/photshop.
Nautilus!A promotianal poster which I created for my web based comic, The Adventures of The Nautilus.
Food ‘n Stuff DeliA comissioned illustration peice.
The Venus StationThis is a flash / photoshop concept image for an animation.
Nautilus ComicThe Adventures of The Nautilus was a comic which I authored and Illustrated.
3DThis 3d ‘fridge bot’ was origianlly developed as a concept image for a project revolving around living kitchen appliances.
Space ChickThis image was created as a template for a stencil print.
Mother GoosedMother Goosed: Twisted Rhymes for Modern Times was a community based project which brought together writers, artists and anyone else interested in creating comics. After the art and written sections where completed, I was responsible for cleaning up all of the art and creating the layout in inDesign.
Youth As Resources: Endowment Brochure
Youth As Resources: Endowment BrochureThe Youth As Resources (YAR) endowment fund brochure was created to mirror some of the playfulness of the original YAR concept; however, it was also designed to have a more mature tone.
WEB DESIGNflash, PHP, HTML, & CSS
Youth as ResourcesUW-Extension’s Youth As Resources site was a multiple page, disorganized website which made it difficult to find .PDF forms and other information that the site provided. I condensed the site to one page. The site is now easier to naviagate and moreconcise. Also, the site now matches the printed materials that YAR provides.
jkfrazer.comThis is a former version of my porfolio site. It was designed using HTML & CSS.
Family Foot ClinicsFamily Foot Clinics of Wisconsin, S.C. commisioned me to build a web-site. I used a simple, clean layout similar to the jkfrazer.com porfolio site.
