DESIGN OF A HYBRID HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FOR A RECONFIGURABLE VIBRATING SCREEN
A Reconfigurable Vibrating Screen (RVS) consists of different screen mesh sizes that are
reconfigurable to cater for changes in production. A Hydraulic system is one of the mechanisms
that can also be used to reconfigure the Vibration Screen depending on the production demand.
Figure 1
Using the RVS show in figure 1 the Hydraulic system can be designed to operate in such a way
that it can achieve extension and retraction of the RVS in both the X and Y direction depending
on the production requirement. The Hydraulic cylinders will be placed along the Y direction on
both sides of the RVS. The piston of each cylinder will provide extension and retraction in the Y
direction. Another pair of Hydraulic Cylinders together with their piston will be placed on the
inner side of the RVS. This will enable the RVS extend and retract in the X direction.
