The Powergrid Solutions DifferenceA major U.S. utility wanted to save time and money by sourcing empty Powergrid SolutionsPadmounted Primary Metering enclosures. The customer planned to install components and wire the units in their facility. However, component delivery and installations were fraught with logistics and lead-time problems.
Ultimately, the utility opted to source completed Padmounted Primary Metering gear fromPowergrid Solutions, including instrument transformers, meter sockets, test blocks and low-voltage wiring. Powergrid Solution’s integrated manufacturing proved to be the most cost-effec-tive and timely method, making Powergrid Solutions the utility’s preferred provider.

PADMOUNTED PRIMARY METERING GEAR (DEADFRONT)
Model SPMD and SPMG, 5-35 kV. 200 and 600 Ampere. Single and Three Phase, Fused/Non-Fused.
Application: Powergrid Solutions (PSI) Padmount Primary Metering cabinets offer Commercial, Industrial, and Utility Customers a solution for revenue metering of primary voltages. Padmount primary metering cabinets are used throughout underground power systems where metering of primary voltages is necessary such as large plants, universities, and utility power supplies. Powergrid Solutions Padmount Primary Metering cabinets can be supplied fully equipped with current transformers (CT’s), potential transformers (PT’s), Meter Socket, and Test Switch completely wired and tested per the Customers’ requirements which allows for fast field installation. PSI can supply transformers to meet the customer specifications or, if it is preferred, the Customer can provide PSI with transformers to install and wire into the enclosure. PSI Padmount Primary Metering gear is available to meter medium voltages ranging from 5kV to 35kV and up to 600 amps. PSI Padmount Primary Metering Cabinets are available in a variety of sizes and construction features to meet customer and environmental requirements. The PSI design fully meets and exceeds all IEEE and ANSI standards.
