At Design Transportation we strive to be the best at what we do when it comes to moving our customer’s freight. We have been extremely fortunate over the past several years to add quality customers, thus allowing us to continue to exceed growth projections year after year. Our growth is due in part to the attention we give to our customer’s freight and our level of performance our staff provides once a load is tendered to us.
Our organization promotes best practices for the highest level of transportation services that companies demand in today’s competitive market. Our focus at Design Transportation is to promote reliability, improve communications and provide a successful truckload transportation program to fit the needs of our customers. Further, we understand the importance of the transportation process when it comes to supply chain management thus, improving your product flows, inventory and vendor management.
Our objective with our customers is to provide a lower overall cost through improved transit times and communications, and ease of administration. We believe shipping is not an event but, a repeat business process which we demonstrate our value to you on a consistent basis. That is why companies such as Container Stores in (2002,2003,2004,2005,2006,2007, 2008, 2009) and Genpak (2006,2007,2008,2009) have awarded us with their “Truckload Carrier of the Year” award.

About Us : Company History
Design Transportation opened in 1989 with a single truck and a single driver. Twenty plus years later, Design has grown stronger and larger with 250 tractors and over 500- 53' air ride trailers. Design's success lies in its loyal drivers along with a commitment to excellent customer service and superior fleet management. By constantly developing new accounts to increase lane density, improving operating efficiency and enhancing equipment utilization, Design will continue to grow and prosper with the help of our drivers, staff, customers and vendors.
Tractors:• Design is known throughout the industry for having one of the newest fleets (average age 2.5 years) of late
model, satellite equipped tractors with the latest amenities offering our drivers comfort and safety. • We operate International and Volvo (Clean Air Idle) trucks exclusively equipped with:
– Condo sleepers – Air ride suspension – All the latest amenities
• This modern fleet coupled with excellent preventative maintenance results in professional looking trucks with maximum cargo capacity and minimal service issues related to breakdown or equipment failure. Design continues to update and grow it's modern fleet to attract and retain qualified, professional drivers.
• Satellite communication systems • Preventative maintenance performed every 25,000 miles
Trailers:• Design trailers are an average age of 4.5 years providing dependable capacity for our shippers. The cargo
capacity is complemented with an air ride system which provides a safe and efficient means of travel for the freight our customers entrust us with.

Technology/Communications
Design Transportation utilizes proven technology to make sure both drivers and customers get the very best. Qualcomm systems increases our operating efficiency and constantly monitors our fleet and freight location. Design’s Fleet Management is highly trained to use the Omnitracs System to communicate directly with drivers. Load position updates every 30 minutes allow us to accurately estimate pick up and delivery times. Design will continue to enhance access to important information for our customers and drivers.
Design Transportation recently updated software programs to TMW's Power Suite Transportation. Implementing this software has increased our abilities and efficiencies tremendously. Design also offers "eStat" through the use of this Web site allowing customers to access and track loads and acquire other information relative to their shipments.
Design Transportation can engage in complete Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) with your company and we can handle 204’s, 214’s, 210’s as well as 990’s transactions and offer the potential for paperless transactions and we utilize Kleinschmit as our VAN.
Logistic GroupAt Design Transportation we understand what drives business today and that is Service. This was the reason we established our own in house Brokerage Department, to provide our customers the extra truck capacity when they need it.
By utilizing our Brokerage Department for additional truck capacity your company can provide seamless service to your customer. We give you, our customer the ability to track and trace your loads as if they were being transported on Design trucks.
With our vast network of quality partner carriers we have the ability to find the right carrier to fit your company’s transportation needs.

Design Transportation was again voted "Genpak National Carrier of the Year " for 2008. Design also won this award in 2006 and 2007, making this the third year in a row they have taken home this honor. Design also took home awards for 2008 "Regional Carrier of the Year" for Genpak's Longview, TX and Carthage, TX locations. Genpak's regional awards are usually not awarded to the carrier who wins the overall "National Carrier" award, but Design's scores were so much higher than their competition that they were an undeniable choice and caused Genpak to break from tradition.
