Prickly Pear cactus We sometimes eat the cactus
There are 15 types of the cactus and they can grow up to 6-7 feet tall!
It stores water in the pads.
Desert StarThis plant is found in sandy deserts and in washes in the Mojave desert. The stem is a
few centimeters long.
Rattlesnake weed:This plat grows in dry slopes in California, leaf is 3-8mm, and has many tiny white flower-like cups.
Christmas cactus:This plant lives on desert slopes. It has fleshy bright red fruit
and has 1 inch wide flowers.
Death Valley Monkey flower This plant is rare and is found in
limestone crevasses.
The Ghost FlowerIt is an erect annual which grows 4 to 16 inches high. It has long, hairy, light-green leaves that are elliptical to lanceolate, and grow up to 4 inches long.The ghost flower derives its name from the ghostly translucency of its flowers.
Scorpion WeedIt is violet blue to purple. It can be up
to 3 feet tall and can be found in deserts and slopes.
when it rolls it disperses seeds. when its alive its called the Russian thistle. It also
grows in Italy, japan, China, Canada, Etc.
Most desert cactuses store water in them to survive. Others lie
dormant until heavy rainfall.
