Quantitative Data

Quantitative data is obtained when a variable being studies is measured along the scale that indicates now much of a variable is present.

Example: the amount of money spent on sports equipment in a particular semester

SAT scores

Categorical data

This is simply the total number of objects, individual, events the researcher finds in a category

Example: the represntation of an ethnic grtoup in a school

Number of male and female students in a class

Number of holidays in a year vs. Non declared public holidays

Experimental Research

This is a type of research that deliberately attempts to influence a particular variable and when properly applied is the best type of testing the cause and effect relationships
