I wobbled to my desk and fell into my chair. I scratched my head and yawned as big as a lion. I was trying to keep my eyes open.

Emily’s brow was furrowed. Her fists were so tightly clenched together her knuckles were white. Veins popped out on her head. Emily’s face was purple with blotchy red patches all over. A growling, hissing sound came from the back of her throat. Her teeth were tightly clenched together. Veins as red as lava were in her eyes.

The girl’s eyes looked like they were barely open. I saw her head hit the desk. Smack! She rolled and hit the floor. Poof! She got up and her head dropped to one side. A little drop of drool rolled down her cheek. I turned away and let out a little giggle.

My heart was pounding faster and faster. It felt like an enormous boulder thumping in my chest. I was glad nobody had a camera to take a picture because I must have had a pretty weird face. My eyes must have been as big as donuts. I really wanted to scream but I didn’t because I didn’t want anything to jump out at me. I felt sweat beads soaking my forehead. I backed away quickly and quietly.

Jake’s eyes nearly shut when the teacher turned the lights off to tell the class to be quiet. I detected that he had bags under his eyes. As the recess bell rang he sat up slowly and trudged along like he was in a slow-motion world, moving about through the hallways like a snail.

My face was as red as lava pouring out of an erupting volcano. I had clenched fists as tight as a 100 pound weight. I was making a hissing sound like an angry boa constrictor. I started stomping my feet like a T-Rex going to battle another T-Rex.
