By a second marriage of Melisanda (Henson) Murphyin Illinois in 1847 to Jacob Collins, a physician, she had two children, Zachariah, died at the age oftwo years; and L.A., a farmer living near Fredrick, Okla. and now 69 years old. Dr. Collins died in1852 and his widow died in Gentry County in 1899 at the age of 83 years. Her remains are buriedin the New Friendship Cemetery.The Murphy family moved from Kentucky to Illinois in 1846 and from Illinois to Missouri in 1855.The family settled near Albany and five years later Robert Murphy, then 15 years old, beganworking on a farm for $10 a month. He continued to work by the month for six years, sometimesreceiving as much as $16.50 per month. He then took up the work of trading and followed this lineuntil 35 years old when he bought a farm of 205 acres of excellent land. He owned this land at thetime of his death and also 170 acres which he bought later.Robert Murphy was married in 1880 to Lizzie Ray of Gentry County, a daughter of A.J. and JaneRay, both deceased. Mrs. Murphy died in March 1920 and her remains are buried in the NewFriendship Cemetery. To this union Robert and Lizzie (Ray) Murphy two children were born:Maud C., died at the age of seven years; and E. Ray, born Sept. 11, 1892, graduated from AlbanyHigh School, and afterwards was a student for three years in William Jewell College at Liberty. Heenlisted for service in the United States Navy, May 28, 1918, and was sent to the Great LakesTraining Camp and then to Norfold, VA, where he remained until June 1919. He is now a memberof the Navel Reserve Force. He now holds a position with the Gentry County Bank of Albany.

There he spent his bohood, coming with his parents to Macon County, Illinois, in the springof 1846, and thence to Gentry County, Missouri, in April 1854. Here he has since lived with theexception of two years spent in Linn County, Kansas. On the 16th of July, 1856, he married MissLydia Osborn, daughter of McDaniel and Rebecca Osborn, who were living at the time of her birthin Henry County, Iowa. During the war Mr. Murphy served in Company M, First Regiment MissouriCavalry, for one year, and was discharged at Holden, Missouri, in May, 1863, for disablity. He hadtwelve children, eight of whom are living: William M., Samuel, Joseph A., Minnie M., Florence,Florinda J., Charles P., and Wyotie H. Deceased was born at Marrowbone, Cumberland county, and was a daughter of the lateQuince and Catherine Jones Rowland, who came to this county when deceased was five years ofage. It is very seldom that a person living to be 82 years of age spends all but five years of thattime on the same farm, but this is true with Mrs. Fogle as she died on the same farm to which herparents moved to when they came to Casey county in 1861. She was married to J. C. Fogle in1884. They attended their first school together and they lived on adjoining farms. Deceased wasconverted at the age of 14 years and became a member of the Middleburg Baptist church. To thisfaith she lived a devoted Christian life throughout the remainder of the long life she was privilegedto enjoy. She had been an invalid for the past three years but remained cheerful and bore hersuffering with much patience and fortitude. She often remarked to members of her family andthose who dropped in to visit her that nothing could happen to her that would cause her to lose herfaith in God. She lived a beautiful Christian life and left behind a wonderful example of Christiancharacter. Surviving are the husband, a son, Mr. Mc D. Fogle, and a daughter, Miss Ruby Fogle,to whom every heart goes out in the tenderest sympathy in this dark hour. She is also survived byten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren as well as a multitude of friends who will grieve thatshe is no more in the flesh. Funeral services were conducted at the home at 1 o'clock Sundayafternoon by the pastor, Rev. B. E. Settles, and burial followed in the family lot in Glenwoodcemetery at Liberty.
