The destination of Peisey-Vallandry has been given a new brand platform,symbolised by a new logo in the form of a heart-shaped ampersand andthe motto “Des montagnes d’histoires”.The ampersand is the strongest and most striking symbol of Peisey-Vallandry’s identity and represents the union of the 2 villages, Peisey andVallandry, taking the P of Peisey & the V of Vallandry to form a unique andunchanging entity.The motto “Des montagnes d’histoires” is seen as the promise of an eternaland infinite land. It is based on respect for its history and the harmonybetween humans and nature. At the same time enigmatic and rich inmeaning, it identifies the area as a place where all possible forms of themountains come together. THE JEWEL OF BAROQUE ARTThe chapel of Notre Dame des Vernettes is built in a highmountain at an altitude of 1816 m at the foot of the AiguilleRousse facing the Bellecôte massif. According to legend, theorigin of the sanctuary is a spring reputed to be beneficial.A shrine dedicated to Our Lady of compassion was first builtclose to the spring.In 1720 it was decided that a larger sanctuary would be built. Thewalls and roof were completed in 5 years and the internaldecoration over the next 3 decades. In 1766 the decision wastaken to build the hostel beside the church.The construction and fitting out were spread over nearly 80years. Through restoration after restoration over 200 years, theVernettes sanctuary has retained its original appearance.Open all year round. PEISEY IN CAPITAL STYLEHouses built of hewn stone with wroughtiron balconies and trompe l’œil paintingsright in the heart of the village of Peisey.During the 18th and 19th centuries,Peisey suffered the rural exodus, notablybecause the seam in the silver mines ranout leading to the final closure of themines en 1866. many Peiserots left towork in towns, in particular in Paris andbecame sculptors in bronze. Where the ski area meets the Rosuel Nordic area at the gates of the Vanoise NationalPark, the Les Amis chalet has been attracting skiing, walking and hiking lovers sincetime immemorial.

The Les Amis Chalet is a building loaded with history: founded in 1963 by Alfred,known as Fredo Pouillé, it is Peisey-Vallandry’s former Mountain Centre whic, fordecades, was a reception and training centre for guides ans ski instructors.Completely restored since 2015, the Les Amis Chalet has become a charming andrelaxing holiday centre for today’s mountain lovers following in the foosteps of theirforebears.

The Les amis Chalet offers 6 very large apartments of 106 to 170 m2, ranging fromduplex to triplex, to provide quality holidays. The mountain-style wooden decor iscontempory and welcoming. Each let is fully fitted with modern and functionalequipment and is able to acommodate 8 to 14 people. Every terrace enjoys a viewover the valley, the mountains, its spruce forest and the Vanoise massif.

Every room has quality bedding, a shower room, a private dressingroom, linen andtowels provided, free and unlimited WIFI in each apartment, lift. The shared 56 m2Wellness Sauna-Jacuzzi-Shower Cubicle Centre is devoted to unwinding ansrelaxation.
