Chancroid

• 0.5 inch to 2 inches• painful• sharply defined, undermined borders• irregular borders• base covered with a gray or yellowish-gray

material• bleeds easily • one or more ulcers. • tender suppurative adenopathy

Common locations

• coronal sulcus of the uncircumcised glans penis

• labia majora• labia minora• perineal area• inner thighs

Chancre

• pustules at the site of inoculation-ulcerated lesions

• 1–2 cm in diameter• painless• non-exudative• hard (indurated) edge• heal spontaneously within three to six weeks• Genitals, pharnyx

Condyloma lata

• raised lesions on the vulva or penis• Similar to warts• smooth.• moist.• flat.• surface scrapings of lesions- darkfield microscopy-

spirochetes.• Syphilis serology-positive.

Gumma

• tertiary stage of syphilis• granuloma• liver,brain, heart, skin, bone, testis, and other

tissues • face, trunk or extremities• firm, necrotic center surrounded by inflamed

tissues• eventually leaving behind an irregular scar or a

round fibrous nodule.

• HPV-causative agent• raised lesions on the vulva or penis• cauliflower-like• dry• bulky

tract , respiratory tract.
