Performance Opportunities 2013 Derby LIVE and their Outdoor Events team are looking for local talent to perform at a number of outdoor events in Derby over the coming year. This is your opportunity to apply for a spot to entertain the people of Derby, perform for a great audience and be a part of the exciting festivities happening all around the city. The Big 1 @ Chaddesden Park - Sunday 2 June A fun-packed day for the whole family with stalls, dance displays, graffiti mural, dog show, falconry, Viking & Medieval groups and a fun fair. There will be the opportunity to perform on the Derby LIVE Music Stage. We are looking for bands and solo musicians of all types to entertain the crowd at this community event. Derby Festé – Splash Stage - Saturday 28 September Following the success of the Splash Stages on the Market place waterfall over the past two years, Derby Festé is offering another platform to showcase the best of Derbyshire’s artists from across a wide range of live performance styles. Whether you are a group or solo performer, musician or street theatre actor, comedian or dancer, this could be your opportunity to be part of the festival. Derby Folk Festival Friday 4, Saturday 5, and Sunday 6 October Derby Folk Festival is an annual event in the Derby LIVE calendar and takes place throughout the Assembly Rooms as well as spilling out into the city. For 2013, there will be a Craft Market, Dance Displays and music performances on the Market Place. We are looking for folk and acoustic performers throughout Saturday and Sunday Bonfire and Firework Celebration - Sunday 3 November The Bonfire and Firework celebration is an annual event and attracts thousands of people from all over the city. With a thrilling funfair, performance stage and the main events of the bonfire and dazzling firework display this is an exciting event to be part of. Christmas Lights Switch On - Saturday 16 November The Christmas Light switch on is Derby’s biggest Christmas event attracting a large crowd year after year. Beginning with a parade through Derby City centre, followed by amazing performances by a diverse range of the best acts Derby has to offer from live music to gymnastics displays and thrilling dance performances this is a fantastic event for audience and performers alike.
