From The Driver’s Seat By Michael Soriano
As we conclude this year of our 40th anniversary, I want to take this oppor-tunity to thank everyone for helping to make this an extremely successful and memorable one. The first weekend in Novem-ber we hosted the last
DE of the year at Mid-Ohio. Once again, the weather cooperated and everyone was able to get a great deal of track time making it another won-derful event. The following weekend, the temperatures rose just in time for the final Cars and Coffee of 2012, providing for a fantastic attendance. And on Saturday, November 17, nearly 50 members attended our monthly social event at Rosie’s Italian Grille, and everyone had a wonderful time.
Our next social event will be Dinner in Findlay at Steve’s Dakota Grille on December 8. In January, Ron Carr will be organizing another Zone 4 trek to the North American International Auto Show at Cobo Hall in Detroit. Please refer to Ron’s In the Zone section of Der Ruckspiegel for more details. I am pleased to report that the Krausers will again be hosting the Planning Meet-ing, which will be held on Saturday, January 26. The planning meeting is by far one of the most important events of the year, as this is when we establish our entire social calendar for the upcoming year. Please join us and help to plan another wonderful and exciting year of events. Be sure to
attend, because Chris and Jeanne do an outstanding job, making the eve-ning itself, an event not to be missed.

simply attending the events that they put on for your enjoyment. Where else can you make so many folks happy just by showing up? Check your local region’s website and newsletter for the latest details on the many events close to you that are being planned, and check the Zone 4 Website at http://zone4.pca.org/ for other regions’ events, such as:
The Rally Sport Region will gather on the second Tuesday of January (8th) at Karl's Cabin in Plymouth, MI, just for fun (no meeting involved this month)!!
The Western Michigan Region will host its January Dinner Drive on Janu-ary 16th to Leo’s Seafood Restaurant, Grand Rapids, MI. Contact host Rick Riley for details at [email protected].
Zone 4 gathering at the North Ameri-can International Auto Show, Cobo Hall, Detroit, MI on Saturday, January 19, 2013. Special presentation at the Porsche Display from 7 to 9 AM, be-fore the show opens to the public. Registration details are included in the December 16th E-Blast to Zone 4
members, and on the Zone 4 website. Registration is through Motorsports-Reg.com.
The Northern Ohio Region is hosting a Tech Session on January 19th at SwitchCars.com in Twinsburg, OH - the subject will be “Buying an Exotic Car”. (I suggest you to stop by there on the way to the Detroit Auto Show J). RSVP to Tom Leigh at 440-645-9250 or [email protected] by January 15th.
Join the Ohio Valley Region on Janu-ary 26, 2013 for their Annual Chili Party at Porsche of Kings Auto Mall in Cincinnati, OH. Registration details can be found in the region newsletter or on the OVR website at http://ovrpca.org/.
The Central Indiana Region will hold their own version of a Coffee & Cars event at the race shop of the region President Rob Fike on January 26th in Speedway, IN. Coffee, snacks, and a 911 engine removal are on the agenda. Contact Rob at [email protected] or 317-727-9333 for details.
Join the Allegheny Region at their Mid Winter Party on February 2nd at the Sewickley Porsche dealership in Pittsburgh, PA. Food, beverages, and live entertainment will be provided for a donation at the door. The PCA National Winter Board Meeting will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 in Orlando, FL. Lo-cation and details are on the PCA Website. All PCA members are wel-comed to attend this semiannual busi-ness meeting.

We are hoping for a large turnout of Zone 4 members to the first Parade in our Zone in 20 years. Put this event on your calendar and plan to attend, vol-unteer to help out and have fun with PCA members from across the US and Canada. It will be a great time for all. Registration will open in mid-March, 2013.
