AUS INDUSTRIE UND HANDWERK
DER PRAKTIKER 8 ◼ 2018388
EWM Die EWM AG investiert in die Zu-
kunft: Der Schweißtechnikhersteller baut an
seinem Hauptsitz in Mündersbach ein neues
Verwaltungsgebäude sowie eine weitere Pro-
duktions- und Logistikhalle. Auf einer Fläche
von 1800 m2 entsteht ab sofort ein moderner,
viergeschossiger Bürokomplex für 80 Mitar-
beiter. Darüber hinaus beginnt der Anbieter
mit dem Bau einer weiteren 3000 m2 großen
Produktions- und Logistikhalle. Insgesamt in-
vestiert das familiengeführte Unternehmen
8 Mio. Euro.
EWM zählt mit zwölf deutschen und sie-
ben internationalen Standorten sowie welt-
weit mehr als 400 Vertriebs- und Servicestütz-
punkten zu den größten Herstellern von Licht-
bogenschweißtechnik. Jetzt erweitert das Un-
ternehmen erneut seine Kapazitäten: Am
Gründungsstandort Mündersbach feierte es
den Spatenstich (Bild) für das neue Büroge-
bäude sowie die neue Produktions- und Lo-
gistikhalle. „Die Nachfrage nach unserer hoch-
modernen Schweißtechnik steigt kontinuier-
lich“, sagt Susanne Szczesny-Oßing, Aufsichts-
ratsvorsitzende der EWM AG. „Deshalb schaf-
fen wir mit der neuen Produktions- und Lo-
gistikhalle weitere Kapazitäten, um die Nach-
frage auch langfristig befriedigen zu können.
Mit dem Neubau des Bürogebäudes bündeln
wir darüber hinaus unsere gesamte Verwal-
tung wieder unter einem Dach und erhöhen
damit nachhaltig unsere Effizienz.“
Das mehrgeschossige Bürogebäude ist
nach neuesten Erkenntnissen in der Gebäu-
detechnik konzipiert, um den Verbrauch von
Primärenergie möglichst niedrig zu halten. So
wird beispielsweise die Abwärme aus dem Re-
chenzentrum zum Heizen der Büroräume ge-
nutzt. In dem Neubau selbst hat der Anbieter
größten Wert auf einen höchstmöglichen Aus-
stattungsstandard gelegt, der konzentriertes
Arbeiten und einen direkten Informationsaus-
tausch ermöglicht. Großzügige Mittelzonen
mit Stehtischen sowie zusätzliche Sitzmöglich-
keiten bieten genügend Raum für Besprechun-
gen und fördern die Kommunikation zwischen
den Abteilungen. Sind die Mitarbeiter von EWM
derzeit noch auf verschiedene Standorte in
Mündersbach verteilt, arbeiten sie nach dem
Bezug der neuen Räumlichkeiten wieder zen-
tral an einem Ort. Damit werden in den be-
stehenden Werken zusätzliche Flächen frei,
die für die Fertigung der Schweißtechnik ge-
nutzt werden können.
In Sichtweite zum neuen Verwaltungsge-
bäude baut der Anbieter die weitere Fertigungs-
und Logistikhalle. Mit den vorbereitenden Maß-
nahmen für das 3000 m2 große Gebäude hat
das Unternehmen bereits begonnen. Im obe-
ren Stockwerk richtet der Schweißtechnikher-
steller eine Logistikanlage mit Fertigwarenla-
ger und Versandabteilung ein. Die Fläche im
Erdgeschoss stattet das Unternehmen mit ei-
ner automatisierten Produktion aus. Nach der
Eröffnung des Werks 2019 sollen hier unter an-
derem fahrerlose Transportsysteme verkehren,
die die fertigen Schweißgeräte autonom in den
Lagerbereich bringen. Beim Bau der neuen
Halle setzt der Anbieter auf ein zukunftswei-
sendes Energiekonzept. So wird beispielswei-
se die Abwärme aus dem Prüffeld zur Hallen-
heizung genutzt. Darüber hinaus entsteht ein
modernes Blockheizkraftwerk zur eigenen
Stromproduktion. Die Beleuchtung des neuen
Werks erfolgt tageslichtabhängig und präsenz-
gesteuert. „Unser Ziel ist es, weiterhin nach-
haltig und gesund zu wachsen – an unseren
Standorten weltweit, aber auch an unserem
Hauptsitz in Mündersbach“, erklärt Szczesny-
Oßing. „Mit dem Spatenstich für die neuen Ge-
bäude haben wir dafür den Grundstein gelegt.“

Kulturgeschichte beschreibt geistige, tech-
nische und politische Entwicklung. Nach dem
Metall Bronze wurde ein ganzes Zeitalter be-
nannt. Bronze verbindet Schönheit und
Zweck, sie zeigt Macht und erinnert an Vor-
bilder. Sie hilft, technische Aufgaben zu lösen
und ermöglicht zu zerstören. Denkmäler aus
Bronze, die das Andenken an Personen oder
Begebenheiten in dauernder Weise darstellen,
sind Zeugen dieser Entwicklung.
Die Quelle, in der aus den Elementen
Kupfer, Zinn, Zink und Blei die erste Bronze
entstand, ist nicht bekannt. Zeugnisse für
ihre Verarbeitung wurden in Indien, Afrika,
Ägypten, Vorderasien und Europa gefunden.
Die bronzene „Himmelsscheibe von Nebra“
mit der Darstellung des Himmels vor etwa
4000 Jahren gehört zu den eindrucksvollsten
archäologischen Funden. Sie wurde 1999 von
Grabräubern auf dem Mittelberg (Sachsen-
Anhalt) entdeckt und gehört seit 2013 zum
Weltdokumentenerbe. Von dem griechischen
Mechaniker Ktesibios wissen wir, dass er vor
2000 Jahren in Alexandria eine Wasseruhr
mit Zahnrädern aus Bronze baute, die sehr
genau ging. In der griechischen Antike war
Phidias der bedeutendste Bildhauer. Für den
Tempel in Olympia goss er 450 v. Chr. den
thronenden Zeus in Bronze. Seine bronzene
Athena Parthenos war 12 m hoch. Seeleute
sahen sie schon, als sie noch an der Küste
von Attika waren.
Michelangelo goss eine Bronzestatue des
Papsts Julius II. für die Hauptkirche San Pe-
tronio in Bologna. Aufständische zerstörten

Bronze war das erste Metall, aus dem in prähistorischer Zeit Schmuck und
Münzen hergestellt wurden. Später waren es Kirchenglocken und Kanonen.
Löten und Schweißen der Bronze gehören zu den anspruchsvollen Aufgaben
in der Denkmalpflege.

hen für aktuelle Themen im digitalen Kon-
text der Blechbearbeitungsindustrie: Für die
erste Kategorie „Digitale Transformation“ kön-
nen sich Unternehmen mit exzellenter An-
wendung vernetzter Fertigungsmethoden be-
werben. Die zweite, „25 ‚Euroblech‘-Messen“,
sucht nach der lustigsten „Euroblech“-Anek-
dote aus den vergangenen 25 Messen. „Cyber-
sicherheit“ als dritte Kategorie steht Pionie-
ren im sicheren Datenaustausch innerhalb ei-
nes Produktionsumfelds in der Blechbearbei-
tung offen. Die vierte Kategorie ist „Bestes
Start-Up“ und zeichnet die hervorragende Leis-
tung von jungen Branchenunternehmen aus.
Pioniere im Leichtbau und Komponentende-
sign können sich in der fünften Kategorie, „E-
Mobilität“, bewerben. Im Rahmen einer fei-
erlichen Preisverleihung auf der „Euroblech“
2018 wird den fünf ausgewählten Unterneh-
men ein Preis und eine Urkunde übergeben.
Bewerben können sich alle Unternehmen
oder Organisationen aus der ganzen Welt, die
ausgezeichnete Arbeit präsentieren können und
thematisch zumindest in eine der fünf Katego-
rien passen. Der Einsendeschluss für alle Bei-
träge ist der 31. August 2018. Dann werden die
Beiträge auf der „Euroblech“-Internetseite ver-
öffentlicht. Daraufhin kann die ganze Blechbe-
arbeitungsindustrie bis zum 30. September mit-
hilfe einer Online-Abstimmung den Sieger aus
jeder Kategorie wählen. Am Tag der Preisver-

Cloos China an neuem standortCLOOS Aufgrund der positiven wirtschaft-
lichen Entwicklung und der hohen Produkti-
onsauslastung erweitert die Carl Cloos
Schweißtechnik GmbH, Haiger, ihre Ferti-
gungskapazitäten an mehreren Standorten
deutlich. Auch Cloos China profitiert von der
guten Auftragslage und ist im Mai 2018 an ei-
nen neuen Standort in Peking gezogen.
„Mit dem neuen Standort können wir un-
sere Kunden optimal vor Ort bedienen und
uns weitere Marktanteile in China sichern“,
sagt Cloos-Geschäftsführer Sieghard Thomas.
Die neuen Räumlichkeiten sind verkehrstech-
nisch optimal angebunden und liegen im glei-
chen Stadtbezirk wie der Beijing Internatio-
nal Airport. Die Fläche für Fertigung und La-
ger beträgt rund 3000 m2. Im Vergleich zum
früheren Standort hat sich die Produktions-
fläche damit mehr als verdreifacht. Dazu
kommt eine Bürofläche von rund 500 m2.
„Cloos genießt in Asien bereits seit vie-
len Jahren einen exzellenten Ruf und ist als
Marke auf dem chinesischen Markt bekannt“,
betont Jinghua Luo, Geschäftsführer von
Cloos China. Seit Anfang der 90er-Jahre ist
das Unternehmen mit einem Büro in China
vertreten. Im Jahr 2010 startete die Cloos-
Tochtergesellschaft mit neun Mitarbeitern.
Seitdem wird das Personal in China kontinu-
ierlich aufgestockt. Heute besteht das Team
aus rund 50 Personen, die neben dem Ma-
nagement die Bereiche Vertrieb und Marke-
ting, Projekt- und Vertragsabwicklung, Ser-
vice und technischer Support, mechanische
Werkstatt sowie Verwaltung abdecken. Ins-
gesamt hat das Tochterunternehmen drei
Standorte im Land: In Peking befindet sich
die Hauptverwaltung mit eigener Produkti-
on. Zudem gibt es jeweils ein Büro in Cheng-
du und Shenzhen.
