TALKING TO YOUR SCHOOLTALKING TO YOUR SCHOOL
Thank you to Staff and families for taking the time to attend our Parent Information Evenings this week. We have had significant positive feedback around the value of these
meetings.
Please remember that we have an ‘open door’ policy. Talking with my school, a guide
to support communication between school and home is attached to this newsletter.
BEHAVIOUR EXPECTATIONSBEHAVIOUR EXPECTATIONS
Congratulations to our students who continue to focus on ensuring they practise the expected behaviour of the fortnight and also consider the previously covered behaviour expectations. Further to the explicit teaching and implementation of our Behaviour
Expectations Matrix, our behaviour expectation for this fortnight is, … Line up quietly in two straight lines and be considerate of others when moving around the school.
To further support our students, I would remind families to model, discuss and reinforce
this and previously addressed positive behaviours outside of the school environment.
UPDATED STUDENT RECOUPDATED STUDENT RECORDSRDS
It is imperative that contact details of all students are up to date. Please ensure that any changes in address details and phone numbers are passed on to the school office.
Parents of students with medical action plans including asthma and bee stings MUST complete new forms each year. Please ask at the office for the new health forms. Thank you for your help in keeping us informed.
MATHLETICS STUDENT LMATHLETICS STUDENT LICENCE ICENCE -- 20182018
Thank you to families who have forwarded payment for individual student Mathletics licences. As previously communicated to families, the student centred, online learning space, Mathletics supports our whole school Mathematics programs here at Aveley Primary School. This program provides an opportunity for students to practise concepts and experience ongoing success in this Learning Area. Individual student licences are available through school for $10 per student, (compared to the current cost of $69.30 if purchased through homes). Your child will be issued with a unique username, with this individual licence providing your child with 24/7 access to the program for the year. Please feel free to contact your classroom teacher if you would like any further clarification.

SCHOOL BOARDSCHOOL BOARD
The fundamental purpose of a School Board is to enable parents and members of the school community to engage in activities that are in the best interests of the students and that will enhance the education provided by the school. Some of the functions include:
The selection and approval of school priorities. Input into school policies. Approval of student personal item list (booklist etc.). Determining the amount of voluntary contributions parents are asked to pay.
The Aveley Primary School Board had our first meeting for 2018 earlier this week. Discussions and decisions included an update of what was happening at school (buildings, staffing etc), the roles and expectations of Board members and, ways to improve communication between The Board and the wider school community.
Our School Board meets twice a term. If you would appreciate the opportunity to raise an agenda item for discussion at a School Board Meeting, please contact a member of the Board. A direct School Board email is currently being set up. This will provide an opportunity for efficient commination between the Board and our school community.
Thank you to the following members for their ongoing support as School Board Members for 2018.
