Reliable well accessGE’s WellAccess organization delivers real value to customers by combining all of our intimate tree design and well intervention knowledge with our global experience in marine contracting and subsea construction. Our experience includes some of the world’s most mature subsea fields (North Sea), deepest and most difficult to access (Gulf of Mexico, South America), and newest developments with complex mixtures and other challenging conditions (Australia, Africa).

Whatever the challenge, we provide operators with a single source for all the engineering expertise, equipment for rent and sale, and the advanced technologies they need to safely control and access any subsea well for its complete life — from greenfield builds to equipment installations and workovers, all the way to decommissioning, plugging, and abandonment.

A long history of subsea excellenceGE Oil & Gas has been at the forefront of subsea technology for many decades. Our technologies enabled some of the earliest subsea developments and continue to advance with evolving customer challenges. All GE equipment is supported by a global network of life-of-field service centers and expertise. We continually invest in our regional capabilities to ensure that our customers have the kind of support their operations need.

We maintain Global Centers of Excellence in all key technology areas and, as part of the global GE organization, we regularly take advantage of leading technologies developed for other industries — always seeking to redefine possibilities. All our activities are anchored in an unrelenting commitment to the environment, health and safety, quality and reliability. Our state-of-the-art wellheads, trees, manifolds and control systems set the standard for equipment reliability and availability.

A world of collaboration: service offering for subsea operationsWe partner with our customers to improve recovery rates, reduce operating costs, and minimize the risk of loss of production by offering robust products and outstanding service throughout the entire equipment lifecycle.

The oil and gas industry is driven by technology, which is driven by people. We invest in the best of both — with experienced, knowledgeable teams, and advanced tools and facilities close to our customers in all key regions. By continually investing in our global resources, we make sure your assets perform as needed with efficiency gains, improved reliability, increased availability, longer intervals between maintenance and regulatory compliance as standard. We’re committed to safely delivering high-quality expertise wherever you need us.

With the average age of subsea wells now over 10 years old, operators are under increasing pressure to maximize recovery rates against some very challenging obstacles. That makes well access one of the most critical tasks for subsea oil and gas development.

ExpertiseWe collaborate closely with our customers and continually invest in technology to ensure safe and efficient solutions for the increasing challenges they face. We support every offshore campaign with a fully integrated approach — effective project management, trained and fully competent service engineers, as well as contingency planning. As a result, our capabilities cover all activities through the entire well lifecycle:

• Subsea construction

• Installation/completion

• Well testing and clean-up

• Intervention and workover — including wireline, coiled tubing and acid stimulation

• Tree removal/replacement

• Plug and abandonment

Best-in-class partnershipGE Oil & Gas has joined forces with Enpro Subsea to provide specialized fluid intervention technology and services to help improve production rates of subsea wells. The partnership combines Enpro Subsea’s Integrated Subsea Sampling & Injection (ISSI) technology with GE’s extensive subsea equipment expertise and global service capabilities — to enable more cost-effective delivery of services such as scale removal, which can have a significant positive impact on well production rate.

Well access

EquipmentWe provide a large fleet of well access equipment for sale or rent, in whatever combination best fits the customer’s campaign duration, cashflow and capital/operational budgets. Key products include:

• Intervention Workover Control Systems (IWOCS)

• Completion Workover Risers (CWOR)

• Subsea Test Trees (SSTT)

• Light Well Intervention Systems (LWIS)

• Fluid intervention systems

Our new 20K CWOR technology is capable of operating at depths down to 3,000 m, well bore pressures of 20,000 psi and temperatures of 350°F. It’s designed for maximum configuration flexibility and complete integration with existing vessel interfaces, subsea trees and other supporting intervention equipment. Its modular design ensures that all configurations meet industry standards, while allowing the customization necessary to meet each field’s unique requirements.

We can also manage subcontract rentals on behalf of customers, which simplifies planning, communication and contracting strategy.

For customers with their own equipment, we have a global network of facilities that provides a full range of equipment management services including storage, maintenance and upgrades, preservation, re-certification, obsolescence management, documentation, export control, and transportation. An experienced GE Oil & Gas logistics coordinator can provide a single point of contact to simplify the customer’s experience for all their equipment and locations.

GE Oil & Gas also has the expertise, experience and industry networks needed to undertake Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Construction (EPIC) projects of any size or complexity. We provide critical support to subsea field developers around the globe — including project management, engineering, design, commissioning and testing services, equipment storage and maintenance.

Comprehensive capabilitiesOur ability to offer truly turnkey solutions gives our customers the benefit of complete customization to their most specific requirements.

Drawing on extensive global operating data and installation experience, we design and manufacture a full range of high-quality, bespoke flexible pipe products for subsea fluid transportation. Our products provide robust corrosion resistance and high adaptability for unique project requirements, particularly in environments where water depth and seabed conditions impose unusual restrictions.

Subsea construction

Proven in-field experienceWe collaborate closely with our customers to ensure the right products are available and project execution is tailored to their needs. Through rigorous equipment safety and maintenance standards, as well as the high training and experience levels of our technicians, we recently achieved over 98% uptime with zero lost-time incidents in more than 2,000 boat days on three major projects offshore Brazil and another off Western Australia. The scope of these SURF projects involved extensive installation of flexible flowlines and risers, control umbilicals, FPSO moorings, STP buoy, subsea structures and 13 mid-water arches.

With performance like this, our customers have come to expect flawless performance and the highest safety standards from our equipment and technicians — so we continue investing in the training, technologies and facilities to keep the positive results coming.

When it comes to pipe deployment, most importantly in connecting topside and subsea infrastructure, we ensure the highest levels of quality and reliability. We can partner with a wide range of available vessels to offer the most operational, cost-effective and safe solution. Moreover, we offer our customers the unique capability to design and build our own pipe-lay systems, which are otherwise a very scarce resource in the industry. We also have exceptional working relationships with all the major Subsea Umbilical Riser & Flowline (SURF) installation contractors worldwide.

Our rental fleet of pipe-lay equipment includes:

• 200 t lay tension horizontal spread with a 300 t (reel weight) reel drive system (RDS)

• 75 t lay tension vertical lay spread (VLS) with a 400 t RDS

• 75 t lay tension horizontal lay spread (HLS) with a 300 t RDS

• 75 t VLS with abandonment and recovery winch and ancillary handling crane (available in early 2016)

The 300 t and 400 t RDS can be interchanged with any of the lay systems.
