  • 3. Benefits Enable stakeholders locate their schools of interest. Parents Students Administrators Local governments Development partners Gives DepED a new perspective of available resources to aid in planning and mobilization
  • 4. Strategy Use crowdsourcing using a phased approach: Phase 1: DepED employees Phase 2: Public call What is crowdsourcing? A means of obtaining data, services, ideas by soliciting contributions from a large group of people and especially from the online community rather than from traditional employees or suppliers
  • 5. Approach Upload photos taken from GPS-capable mobile phones. Photos will be collected through a website and processed for verification URL is http://mapcentral.ph/CI/deped_geotag/ Once verified (2-3 days max), the schools location will appear online
  • 6. Status and Timelines Now: beta testing Starting next week: officially announce to ICT coordinators Join the Beta Testing. This week only

  • 10. Use Guidelines Register your DepED email address Email verification Upload photos that are no more than 1- MB in size Photos of school faade Inappropriate photos will NOT be allowed. Allow 2-3 days before location and photo is published
  • 11. Bonus After uploading photo, participant may upload other landmarks of interest: Health Centers/Hospitals Barangay Halls Police Stations/Precincts City/Municipal Halls
