Guidelines for Posters / Papers
Food Biotechnology is the application of food science to the selection, preservation, processing, packaging, distribution and use of safe, nutritious & wholesome food. This is an interdisciplinary science with contributions from agriculturists, biochemists, biotechnologists, engineers, and microbiologists. India is self sufficient in production of food grains but is grossly insufficient in food processing and preservation. This national seminar on “
” will provide a scientific platform for exchanging ideas and keeping abreast of recent advances in food biotechnology and their applications. Eminent scientists from industries and research organizations like CRIDA, CFTRI, NIN would deliver lectures and enlighten the participants. This seminar would also provide an opportunity to active researchers to present their work and interact with subject experts on current challenges in food biotechnology.
Participants are invited to present their original work on the following areas:
? Food enzymes , Food processing technologies
? Food quality control and assurance
? Food toxicology , Nutraceuticals
? Preservation methods , Probiotics

Our objective is to provide high-quality graduate and post-graduate programs which are both skill and knowledge based. We are actively involved in teaching, summer projects, UGC-funded research, publishing papers, books, and making presentations at National and International conferences. Department had received two UGC Major Research Projects and three Minor research projects from UGC SERO. Our students have secured University ranks for several years which also includes Gold Medal from Osmania University for M.Sc Microbiology. Many students have qualified in CSIR-JRF, NET, ICMR and GATE exams. We also conduct community outreach programs regularly.
Department of BiochemistryThe Department was started in 1999 with one UG course and PG course was introduced in 2001. We strive to provide quality education to our students with theoretical and technical knowledge. We carry out summer projects in the Department. Our students have secured top ranks at the university level including Gold medal. We encourage our students to clear competitive exams like UGC-CSIR (NET), GATE and ICMR.
