VSHP Annual Virginia Pharmacy Residency Forum

The Annual Virginia Pharmacy Residency Forum was held at the UVA Education Resource Center on August 17, 2018. Pharmacy residents throughout Virginia, including some PGY1 and 2 residents from UVA, attended the forum which included lectures on wellbeing and resilience, IRB and statistics review, and financial planning. Attendees were also given the opportunity to network with other pharmacy residents and program directors from throughout Virginia. Special thanks to Ally Stillwell (PGY-2 Infectious Diseases) for helping to coordinate the event.

UVA Pharmacy Hosts Residency

Visits

The UVA pharmacy residency program hosted pharmacy residents from programs at the University of North Carolina Health System, the University of Florida Health Jacksonville, and Duke Health System for residency site visits in October and November. Robert D’Eramo, Josephine Tan, Cory Perry, Yvonne Zhang, and Tyler Goins helped coordinate the visits, which included a UVA campus tour and resident lunch, an overview of residency programs at UVA and the visiting programs, and a pharmacy hot topics discussion. The UVA PGY-1 pharmacy residents are scheduled to visit another residency program site later this year.
