To overcome the direct contact of garbage by the sanitary department peoples, who handle
garbage to dispose, provide them hygienic working environment, the machine named
“MANUALLY OPERATED SCAVENGING MACHINE” designed and fabricated. The
machine works without any kind of fuels except manpower. It is economical and easy to operate.
The students Sarin, Saravana kumar , Girish and Sandeep carried the project work Under the
guidance of Mr. D. Raja, Asst. Prof, Mechanical Engineering Department during the academic
year 2014-15. The machine was demonstrated in presence of the press and media peoples. And
the same was published in popular daily and telecasted in some popular TV channel news.
Under the guidance of Mr. Siva Shankar. Asst. Prof.
Sugar Cane Harvester machine demo in the presence of media people the final year students, Manoj Bhimappa, Praveen Gwoda, Punith Raghavendra, Shashank under
the guidance of Asst. Prof. K. Arasu Kumar , designed and fabricated Sugar Cane Harvester
machine. Since the harvesting using Hand knives, cutting blade or hand axes are used for manual
harvesting. It requires skilled laborers as improper harvest of cane leads to loss of cane and sugar yield,
poor juice quality and problem. Cutting sugar cane to ground level so that the bottom sugar rich
internodes are harvested which add to yield and sugar de-topping at appropriate height so that the top
immature internodes are eliminated Proper cleaning of the cane by removing the extraneous matter such
as leaves, trash, roots etc. minimizes harvesting time.
